@RandPaulReview
Rand Paul today on blocking Trump's tariffs on imports from Canada: "Despite arguments to the contrary, Americans know tariffs are a tax they are going to have to pay."
The Founding Fathers “so feared the power of taxation that they gave it only to Congress.”
"I stand to speak against the tariffs. I stand to speak against the idea of skipping democracy, of skipping the constitutional republic, of rejecting our founding principles."
"Not because I have any animus towards the president. I do this because I love my country..."
"We should vote. This is a tax, plain and simple."
"Taxes should not be enacted by one person."

He won the vote, by the way.
Trump is throwing tariffs back in the face of those abusing tariffs, to make them get rid of tariffs!
The threat of tariffs IS working and tariffs DID work well for us prior to 1913!
And since WW II, tariffs have worked against us, once the decimated European nations got back on their feet, and have been killing American economy for many decades now, because WE foolishly have very few of them, now.
He is so obviously owned right now, it’s pathetic.
Time for 2 new senators from Kentucky.
So I guess Rand disapproves of all the countries dropping their tariffs on the US.
Ditto. 💸🇺🇸
I usually agree with most of Rand’s opinions, but what he wants, which I understand is a flat rate tax, is not going to be enacted, so tariffs are better than what we have now. It is my understanding that Trump wants tariffs to get us to where we can lower taxes.
Yep, and yes, tariffs can be considered taxes—which means Rand is ok with OTHER COUNTRIES taxing us.
Unlike those uneducated and historically & financially stupid, there ARE many ( you and I and Trump and many others ) who understand and applaud this new American tariffs stuff. :-)
HELL YES and replacements come soon, I hope.
Congress essentially delegated the authority to impose tariffs to the President via the Trade Act of 1974.
sigh very disappointed in Rand Paul - I used to appreciate his principled opposition to some MAGA tenets - not sure if genuine conviction at work here or Trump Derangement or both…
The unfair tipping scales of trade have done untold generational damage. Trade “War” indeed. We have out of work Americans in dying towns dotted with empty factories overdosing on opioids — meanwhile infrastructure booms in places like China, which owns the Panama Canal (among others) to boot — and uber rich billionaire CEO’s of foreign companies all over feasting and yachting at our expense. These are not truly free markets — 😖😠
With the exception of you once liking Rand, your comments are spot on, hit the nail on its head, and couldn’t be more factually correct if you tried. BRAVA!
Did Senator Rand Paul complain about the tariffs Obama and Biden implemented on China?
When Republicans vote with commie RATS, especially when they stab President Trump in the back with their vote, they’ve sold their souls to the uni-party.
On this issue, Rand can GFH!
🔝🔝🔝
Idiot.
There is no need for that language
