Ukrainian officials and military analysts have warned that Russian forces are preparing a fresh offensive in the coming weeks, aiming to intensify pressure on Ukraine and strengthen Moscow's position in potential ceasefire negotiations.
The anticipated push could lead Russian President Vladimir Putin to delay peace talks in favour of pursuing further territorial gains, Ukrainian officials said.
They reiterated long-standing claims that Russia has no genuine interest in meaningful negotiations to end the war.
As the spring fighting season approaches, analysts and military commanders report that the Kremlin is planning a multi-front assault across the 1,000-kilometre frontline.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, citing intelligence, said Russian forces are preparing new offensives in the northeastern Sumy and Kharkiv regions, as well as in Zaporizhzhia.

How many Norks does Putin have left?
Russia is determined to achieve their goals.
The only way to stop them is to stop them.
Good news!
Maybe Tshirt man will sue for peace as he should.
ping
More likely, he'll be back at the White House begging "the real estate guy" to please, please, please save his sorry @#$...
To the end of a major Russian offensive - all the horses, camels, donkeys as well as Ladas and Mopeds have been massed just behind the lines to take Russian troops into battle. That is how modern armies fight!
Stop them how? Fight them until the last Ukrainian? The only way the war ends is through negotiations. Zelensky and his corrupt cronies want to keep the war going to keep the money flowing in. We pay the salaries and pensions of the government, including the military. USAID money was paying subsidies to small Ukrainian businesses. Time to end this immoral proxy war, which has been waged for over a decade.
He just got another 3,000 we know about to replace the 5,000 dead ones. Perhaps secret train loads have been moving east across Siberia holding tens of thousands. Who knows?
Non-NATO Ukraine and non-NATO Russia are at war, and it requires "citing intelligence" to make public statements that a combatant is going to continue an offensive at the line of contact. Duh. It's war.

Bottom line: "...Ukraine can’t win unless the US enters into direct war with Russia."
Trump is for peace, Ukraine has agreed to a ceasefire, only (no surprise), Putin refuses to stop invading Ukraine and in fact when speaking to submariners, Putin smugly declared: 'Not long ago I said we'd grind [Ukraine] down — now it looks like we'll finish them off'.
“claims that Russia has no genuine interest in meaningful negotiations to end the war”
The Russians are probably losing about 1,000 soldiers a day.
“Ukraine has agreed to a ceasefire”
Trump and Hegseth will fix US arms production in time.
Putin isn’t going to give Ukraine that time.
You got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em
Know when to walk away and know when to run
You never count your money when you’re sittin’ at the table
There’ll be time enough for countin’ when the dealing’s done
Both sides are probably always planning something.
Sure. the war will end with negotiations, but what to do you do when one side, Putin refuses to a ceasefire?
It appears that both sides-at least the leaders- are willing to expend their fighting men to the last one. Not exactly a view to ensuring well being for future generations.
If they don’t want peace, there’s only so much we can do.
The Russians are probably losing about 1,000 soldiers a day.
Yes, mostly ethnic people from Russia's far east, Buryats, Kalmyks, Tuvans, Chukchi, Nenets, and now also North Koreans.
As long as its not Muscovite's, Russians don't really care about the losses.
