Federal immigration authorities may soon gain access to Internal Revenue Service data under a pending agreement that would allow them to verify the names and addresses of individuals suspected of being in the U.S. illegally, according to multiple reports.
Newsweek has contacted the IRS for further comment.
Why It Matters
Undocumented immigrants can file taxes and register with the IRS, which is legally required to keep their information confidential, except in limited, specific cases.
Border security and immigration are central to President Donald Trump's policy agenda, as he has vowed to deport millions of migrants without legal status, particularly those with criminal records, and to carry out the largest deportation program in U.S. history. Following Trump's return to the White House, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has ramped up arrests across the U.S. However, concerns have been raised that nonviolent migrants are being swept up in enforcement operations.
What To Know
Under the agreement, ICE would submit the names and addresses of individuals it suspects are living in the country illegally to the IRS, which would then cross-reference and verify the information, The Washington Post and CNN reported.

No Biden gave them Fridges Obama gave them Phones ,LOL
Hell yes!
Newsweek is suggesting another lawsuit, to go before a DC judge.
I’d rather listen to somebody scratch a chalkboard with fingernails than hear the phrase, “undocumented immigrant.” That’s like calling a tweaker who steals his neighbor’s DeWalt tools and tricks them off for dope a “freelance pawn broker.”
Just look for EITC going to dozens of people at the same address
The post office can do the census. That is if there’s still gonna be one in 5 years.
I wasn’t aware that the massive numbers of illegal aliens working for low wages with no benefits and paid in cash under the table were filing tax returns.
You learn something new...
Biden gave them debit cards, houses, and fridges. Not to mention free (taxpayer funded, that is), internet service.
You have to earn some income to get an earned income credit.
...and free dry-cleaning at hotels...
That app that Biden rolled out in his last months is now being used for voluntary deportation. I have to think a smart IT person could use the phone's GPS functions to locate the newbies.
What happened to cutting off benefits?
of course they are... child tax credits
“Could”?
Absolutely not.
“MUST”!

Most illegal aliens use real Americans’ SSNs. The IRS KNOWS when two different people in two different locations and lines of work are using the same SSN. A good programmer could give you a list of the ADDRESSES of most working illegals in an hour or two.
Verify ITINs. The IRS hands those out like candy to ‘migrants.
A good programmer could scrape through the IRS databases and locate many millions of illegal aliens and stop hundreds of billions in fraud. It would be easy and fun.
