President Donald Trump singled out San Francisco Chronicle Washington correspondent Shira Stein for wearing a COVID mask in the Oval Office, remarking, “You’re wearing a mask! So nice of you!”
Trump — who wore a mask sporadically during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic — made a habit of mocking reporters for wearing masks as the precaution became the subject of MAGA cultural derision. But masks are still recommended for individuals at high risk of harm from the disease.
At an Oval Office event on Wednesday, Trump took questions from reporters, including Stein — who was the print pooler for the day and has previously shared on X/Twitter that she is a high-risk individual.
Trump interrupted her question to make observations about her mask:

To be honest, Trump was the one who held up the 15 days to slow the spread sign. He stood there every day behind Fauci at the press conferences with his hands folded like he was at church. I like Trump and voted for him 3 times but the Covid shutdown was the worst idea in American history. It destroyed us.

Trump was deceived and held hostage by the “experts”. He was presented with computer projections of millions of deaths unless mitigation protocols were imposed. Even Trump, despite Russia Russia Russia and Ukraine impeachment couldn’t grasp that a CCP-deep state conspiracy to get rid of him was occurring.
He should have asked her if she was ill and why would she come to the WH if she was.
Even if he had thought that was going on it would have been nearly impossible to fight the “experts.” The media was ginning up the hysteria to monumental levels. The Democrats would have filed another impeachment and the Senate would have removed him from office for it.
Nah, she was just gonna key his new Tesla after the press conference.
I don’t blame Trump for not knowing much about virology or clinical trials. He could have learned more though. He deferred to the “experts” not really knowing the experts were scumbags that manipulated data and information in large part to derail his agenda and remove him from office in 4 years or less. Fauci is among the worst and has been for 40 years. But how would Trump really know that. Trump thought he was given that position because he was a competent and compassionate scientist. Trump has learned that lesson 10 fold.

He didn’t shut things down. The governors did. In fact, NYS made it a point to tell Trump he couldn’t control the states.

Most of the public now knows we, including Trump, were all lied to. It would have been impossible for Trump to have gone against the tide.
The N95 masks can stop the virus...but not totally. It cuts down on the amount you would inhale.
In November of 2020 I bought a Batman mask at at an after Halloween sale at Dollar General. I wore it Anywhere that required a mask. Some places didn’t get the joke.
After my friend had to wear a mask while going through chemo, I am not upset when I see a stranger wearing one now and then. You just never know what someone is going through.

Governors, not Trump, were the decision makers when it came to shutdowns. Noem shut nothing down. DeSantis did, but only for a short time. It varied, state by state.
