According to Pliny the younger, the famed Roman senator Biggus Dickus owned a Corvette chariot.

Their mistake was sneaking the whole car out at once instead of one piece at a time.

Had my 75 Vette out yesterday at the local brewery... all polished and looking good. Got the usual compliments and questions and people taking pictures. One kid, I’d say about 8 or 9, walks over, starts hugging it and kissing it. Bizarre to say the least. I let it go because I didn’t see the parents.

Had a Corvette once: it was pretty, but it had problems every day I had it. It was a real lemon!

My '64 convertible was stolen and found by the FBI in Toronto, Canada over a year later. Still had a pair of my socks behind the passenger seat inside the battery compartment.

I’ve had two sports cars that are like that. A FIAT X1/9 and a BMW Z4...............Respectfully, Mr. Bager, an X-19 and a BMW Z4 are NOT "sports cars like that." An X-19 has 85 horsepower and a BMW Z4 can have up to 382 horsepower. A ZR1 Vette has 1064 horsepower That's not to say that they are not sports cars or not fun cars but they are not in the same league and not sports cars like that. Do yourself a favor. Go test drive something with a thousand plus horsepower. It is exhilarating. But be warned, after driving it, you might have to have one since you obviously enjoy sports cars.

BTW, hard to imagine but a brand new Stingray back then was 'only' $5K.
