President Donald Trump talks about placing tariffs on Canadian goods. Ontario Premier Doug Ford talks about “inflicting as much pain as possible on the American people.” See the difference? Tell me again how the term “snowmexicans” is insulting. I digress.
A few thoughts. First, apparently Doug Ford doesn’t quite understand that tariffs on steel, aluminum and auto imports are not part of the “reciprocity” tariff regime. They are an entirely different category classified under national security directives to ensure American industrial capacity.
Second, as Canada moves into the “freedom fries” phase, voices like Doug Ford might want to consider the end of this continuum that finds the word “embargo” in the lingo. Perhaps President Trump would consider elevating the conversation to “reciprocity” in the banking sector. Again, I digress.

Yeah, her too.
Long before President Trump came on the scene, Canada had huuuuge tariffs. Two to 300 percent on dairy, poultry, eggs.
He’s supposed to be the conservative. Never the most level headed for sure but this latest round he’s gone off the deep end. And he’s a bit fat. Does being fat make one go insane? I mean we have some prime examples in Chris Christie and others.
he doesn’t get the messsage, but I have confidence that he eventually will
“The Canadian government purchased a billboard on Capital Blvd stating that tariffs are a tax.”
We have the same billboard ad here just north of Cincinnati on I-75.
Yep, I got them mixed up but the point is valid. Presently, it appears the liberals still have the lead.
Now many Canadians have developed a bad taste for America and Trump. He has got them all riled up and demanding some action. I suspect that the President will show his hole card and reverse that trend.
For Instance....... why become a 51st state when you can be Canada and a strong American pardner again? Abandon the pretense of being European. Be Canadian and strong American pardners. Just get rid of your harmfully destructive Euro attitudes. Europe is stagnant trending backward.
