Since the last auto-update of my Firefox browser, emails that contain forwarding URL, those URL will not execute. For example, I get a daily trivia question. When I click on the link to answer the quiz, Firefox locks up. The same happens with a Facebook link.
If I use a different browser (e.g., Opera), the links work fine. I've tried to notify Firefox, but getting a link for them is a bad joke.
Has anyone else experienced this?
My guess is there’s a new security security setting or it defaulted to the strictest setting.
Switch to “brave”. I gave up on Firefox quite a few years ago.

I’m using brave on my phone, still use firefox on PCs though.
If you are in windows10/11, check your “default apps” in windows under system settings and confirm that all the URL types are associating with firefox
It’s an old problem, much older than that below

I suspect that you have a platform (OS) issue or conflict.
Regardless, the web outlines much frustration. Thus, I seriously doubt that it’s either a setting or the update.
BRAVE on my phone has done some funny things since the last update a couple weeks ago.....................
The first is a Forum and, thus far, has not been helpful. I have heard nothing from the second one and I submitted a report two days ago.
The links worked fine up to a few days ago. So this problem is new to my system.
Taster or tester?
I stopped using FireFox a couple of years ago because of all the issues. Apparently, they have not progressed.
I assumed you are working on a Windows system so I pinged the Windows Ping List, however if you’re on a Mac or Linux or something else, that would be good to tell us.
It seems more likely to me that something is broken or out of alignment in your system (and others who have reported it), not necessarily something broken or out of alignment in Firefox itself.
That said, YMMV of course.
As I wrote, the web outlines much frustration.
I’m asserting that you may find more answers there than here since there are MANY details not included in your post (impossible to have a technical discussion).
I suggest finding a tech forum and making a post there which may guide you to a solution, perhaps even at Mozilla’s site itself.
Firefox does drive some sites crazy with it’s cookie thing ,LOL
NEVER click on a link in an e-mail message
NEVER click on a link in a text message.
Copy the link. Paste the link into a text editor window, and then examine the link, perhaps edit it - to make it a clean link.
Copy that link in the text editor window.
Paste that link, into the URL address field of your chosen Internet browser.
Stopped using Firefox about 3 years ago. Just got too bloated and laggy.
Try it in Brave.
