A Chicago-sized iceberg recently broke away from Antarctica, giving scientists the chance to explore a portion of the sea floor that may have been hidden for centuries.

God probably filed a HUGE environmental impact statement before this event.
(It must be around here somewhere)
The climate cultists would have us believe nothing like this has ever happened before (as if they have weather records going back millions of years).
Scientists found the body of Jimmy Hoffa...
Trade ya ours for yours. π₯΄π
I wish Chicago would break away.

I remember about 55 years ago there was a plan to pull antarctic Icebergs to Arabia and melt them for the water.
One of many schemes and dreams in science magazines back then.
Well, let us know when there’s a chunk the size of DFW or Connecticut.
That must have been before the Saudis could build desalination plants.
In part because they never explain that a growing ice shelf will break up due to extending out into deeper rougher waters.
Would cause much more pollution than an iceberg. Would really screw up Lake Michigan, all those filthy dems.
They can say whatever nonsense they want, but the fact is it grew so big that it’s weight could not be supported anymore, and it broke off. This happens quite often.
Nah, he’s part of the Verrazano bridge. Too cold for a bunch of mobsters in Antarctica.
I remember reading about that also. Someone tried it, but it was just not economical at the time.
It was before that when desalinization was till too expensive. It’s still expensive and requires a lot of energy, but getting cheaper all the time. Would be great for California and some other states. California rejected the plants because the water intakes would suck in fish and their eggs. One in Australia has slow intakes and allows fish to escape. So it’s an advancing technology.
Hopefully, it would capsize/sink,
