What was their motivation, and why do you believe that scenario?
I predicted before the release that everyone with an agenda is going to go sifting through the whole caboodle looking for things that will validate their position(s)
This isn’t the smoking gun you may think it is.
The Israel redaction bit is because the CIA was getting KGB information from an Israeli contact and the passing it through it like CIA information while indicating the information came from an Israeli source. Protecting sources, particularly foreign government contacts that aren’t overt (like if ambassadors or attaches meet and exchange information... that’s called overt intelligence collection), is normal in handling classified information.
