Tucker Carlson warns Trump against Iran airstrike

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently took to his official account on Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) and warned US President Donald Trump about the complications of striking Iran including the possibility of setting off a war, causing the death of thousands of Americans.

The American political commentator and presenter wrote, "It’s worth pointing out that a strike on the Iranian nuclear sites will almost certainly result in thousands of American deaths at bases throughout the Middle East, and cost the United States tens of billions of dollars."

Tucker Carlson added, "The cost of future acts of terrorism on American soil may be even higher. Those aren’t guesses. Those are the Pentagon’s own estimates. A bombing campaign against Iran will set off a war, and it will be America’s war. Don’t let the propagandists lie to you."

Re: "thousands of American deaths at bases throughout the Middle East"

Thousands dead?

Only if they use nukes.

That sounds delusional to me, Tucker.

Trump would instantly counter attack with nukes.

The Mullahs square mile of Heaven on Earth in Tehran would look like a giant slice of burnt toast.

We have an indisputable National interest in safely navigating the Red Sea to the gulf of Aden. Bonb Iran and the vassal Yemen mercilessley until the piracy ceases.

This is a shame because the people of Iran are not essentially anti-American or anti-West. They despise the regime of the extremist religious Mullahs they have to live under, but are unable to depose. There was talk on these pages awhile ago about building a domestic opposition to the Mullahs on Iranian soil and assisting the people in overthrowing the Mullah’s regime. But not much apparently has been done thus far in that direction. Which would probably take years. It would be a much more effective solution to the problem. With a pro-Western government in place, Iran would be a game-changer in the region.

“Has Tucker considered the ramifications of Iran’s crazy mullahs having deliverable nuclear weapons?”

Yes. No good options unless some “thinking outside the box” can be utilized. The Biden administration has brought down a major curse on the world.

I no longer accept statements like this at face value. I have no idea how the people of Iran feel about anything.

And allowing Iran to strike with a nuke is certain to kill hundreds of thousands as well. The insane Islamic regime has proven that it will strike, not that it is a possibility. It will. Where has Iran’s jihadist regime proven its ability to restrain itself? It hasn’t.

Each situation is its own and Tucker is wrong on this. Iran is behind the attacks about everywhere in the mid east.

Looks like some folks still want a Third World War. Iran looks like an easy target—a few strikes, lose a few planes and shock an awe—like magic, no more Mullahs and Israel is safe. But, Iran isn’t Iraq. Who will join us in this war? England? Japan? As long as its just USA vs. Iran—we win but at a high cost—if Other Nations step in—it gets dicey. Tucker is wise to warn us. If, this causes Iran to use its rockets on the Naval base we have in Dubai... A land Invasion of Iran would be a nightmare. Iran may well have some form of nuke too. What if Russia doesn’t just sit back as its ally is crushed? WW III could still happen.

We've tried "winning over hearts and minds" in the Middle East. We've also tried "regime change" (in Iraq). Neither worked.

But we've seen what worked in other parts of the world. Hint: there's a reason it's been 80 years since any American said, "Gee, Wally. I sure hope Japan doesn't attack us again.". How many people in Japan died? Answer: however many it took until they surrendered. And no boots were needed on the ground in mainland Japan (though many were needed in Japan's islands to do island hopping in the days of short range planes). There were people who insisted that the Japanese were too proud to surrender. They were wrong. Just like today it's said that middle Easterners are too proud to surrender. They haven't been taught the lesson that other parts of the world received (i.e. Japan, Germany). Sep 11 was our best opportunity to teach Afghanistan and Pakistan (the two main base countries for Al Qaeda) that lesson in a way that they and anyone paying attention would know for decades to not attack the U.S. Neither the Iranians nor anyone else in the middle east has really had their pride knocked out of them like the proud Japanese and Germans did.

With today's long range planes and missiles it wouldn't take three and a half years of fighting like it did with Japan. Nor should it take almost two decades like Afghanistan if we fight to win. Trump should tell Iran, "Attack us again, either directly or through your proxies, and we make an example out of you".

Iran has considerable leverage over Qatar and other oil rich Gulf states because of Iran's all too credible threat to block the Straits of Hormuz. This explains Qatar's recourse to Tucker as a propaganda venue.

Then again, Iran is also vulnerable to economic and political pressure from the US and allied Sunni powers like Saudi Arabia. A restive and impoverished population unhappy with corrupt and brutal rule by the mullahs adds to Iran's structural weakness. This is balanced by Iran's mountainous periphery that makes it a natural fortress against land invasion and support for internal dissidents.

A clean, precise, and effective nuclear decapitation strike by the US is doable, but then what? Iran will respond in some manner, with a series of moves and counter moves to follow. The US can prevail, in time, but the course and cost of such a conflict are not fully predictable.

Nevertheless, against the threat of a nuclear Iran, hope and inaction are not a strategy. So the US under Trump is likely to act as the least bad choice and a way to shape events so as to reduce the chances of being made a victim.

Trump ran his campaign on the promise to end all of the unending wars and have America become a beacon of peace. Now, he is surrounded by warmongers who don’t have any kids who would be fighting these wars, but do have stocks in the corporations who build the weapons of war. Let’s see if Trump can ignore the advisors he chose and pick a real path of peace. Remember, he should have ignored Dr. Fauci, but he didn’t and thereby sealed his fate in 2020. Can he ignore the globalist warmongers this time and actually win the real war, which is here at home. Not in Iran, or Yemen, or Ukraine, or China. Here at home.
