A federal judge dismissed Hunter Biden’s lawsuit filed against a former Trump administration staffer in California after Biden requested the case end because of his financial difficulties.
U.S. district judge Hernan Vera terminated Biden’s lawsuit against Garrett Ziegler Thursday over the public database Ziegler made with emails and images from the younger Biden’s infamous laptop hard drive and iPhone server.
An appointee of Hunter Biden’s father, former President Joe Biden, Vera tossed Biden’s legal challenge with prejudice, meaning he cannot bring the lawsuit again at some point in the future
“To be clear, the Court does not express any opinion concerning the underlying merits of the case. And the Court accepts the detailed representations made by Plaintiff as to the reasons motivating his request to dismiss. But under Fed. R. Civ. P. 41, and on these facts, Plaintiff’s request to dismiss without prejudice is not warranted,” Vera said in an order.
Hunter Biden asked Vera to toss the case last week because of financial struggles due to dried up book sales and art sales starting in late 2023, when he was indicted on federal tax charges and the subject of a high-profile impeachment investigation by House Republicans. The loss of income also coincided with the collapse of Joe Biden’s political career last summer due to his advanced age and evidently declining mental faculties.
Last year, Biden’s art dealer Georges Berges testified before congressional investigators about how he ended his contract with Biden in September 2023 for business and political reasons. Berges said Biden sold approximately $1.5 million worth of art, $875,000 of which was purchased by his friend and financial benefactor Kevin Morris, a wealthy entertainment lawyer. Morris confirmed the art purchases when he testified before congress, and his lawyer subsequently disclosed to lawmakers $6.5 million of...

Rush 2010 - Pelosi: We Must Pass Obamacare So Artists Can Quit Their Day Jobs
Wish I could take my broke ass wife on a month long vacation to a luxurious resort in Africa with my own security detachment. Unfortunately, I have to work full time
Hunter is currently living it up in South Africa, accompanied by secret service, yeah broke my ass
So who covers the legal expenses of the guy he was suing?
Hunter no longer gets Secret Service. Only former Presidents get it for life. A former Vice President gets coverage for only six months after leaving office.
This poor, troubled and misunderstood creative artist. (/S)
I would say he should retire to an island with his wife and paint every day. But in a documentary about Lawrence Ferlinghetti the writer said the island where Gaugin did his paintings is now the site of a Club Med. And the several small islands beyond it also have similar resorts on them now.
The Judge should turn to Hunter and say: “Define ‘Broke’, Mr. Biden. The Court awaits your response.”
In a good line in the movie (and novel) Advise and Consent the VP played by Lew Ayres said: "In America it doesn't mean you are a criminal for being Vice President. You are just supposed to keep a low profile and act like one."
Reply.
“Your honor, I don’t even have the cash on me any more to pay you off to fix my parking ticket for my limo in the street across from this court building.”
Judge: “In other words your financial setback hurts me, too. That isn’t fair.”
So Kamala loses it on July 20?
I’m down to two dollar hookers?
As usual, reporting on legal issues is very sloppy and uninformative. As best I can tell, the alleged actionable conduct occurred in 2020. Don’t know about the statute of limitations for this claim in particular, but the general federal civil limitation is five years.
When a case is dismissed without prejudice, as Hunter requested, you calculate the statute of limitations as if the first action had not been filed. So the without prejudice request was just a bit of bravado; if not refiled this year, the statute would have run. The judge’s decision properly put an end to this charade
The judge SHOULD RECUSE HIMSELF.
I believe so. I did some reading when President Trump got lambasted for pulling security from the idiots Fauci and Bolton. Former Presidents get it for life. VP’s for six months. Kids are on their own.
Lol!
Apparently, the law now provides for SS protection for the adult children of former presidents for 10 years after their parent leaves the presidency.
Hunter is reportedly living in rented $30,000 a month beachfront digs in South Africa, protected by 12 SS agents (4 on 3 shifts).
Apparently crime DOES pay. And is he in South Africa so he can’t be brought here for questioning? Also, I hope the SS agents they sent were the fat and slow ones that pretended to protect candidate Trump.
Hope the guy requires the court to award him the lawyer and other expenses.
