Scarlett Johansson put her arrogance on full display by issuing an unhinged statement about her celebrity status.
Clearly setting her bar as low as it can go, she casually blurted the selfish comments during the interview for her In Style cover story. The publication revealed Johansson’s bizarre personal policy to not take photographs with her adoring fans unless she’s at an event, but it didn’t stop there. After admitting she didn’t care enough to pose with the very people who elevated her to superstardom and the lavish life she enjoys, Johansson launched into a self-indulgent display of arrogance.
“I always say to people, ‘I’m not working.’ [And that means] I don’t want to be identified as being in this time and place with you. I’m doing my own thing,” she told In Style.
Johansson, famous for roles in “Black Widow,” “Avengers” and “Captain America: Civil War,” made it clear that she was simply not interested in engaging with fans unless it was on her own terms.
“It really offends a lot of people,” she admitted.
“It doesn’t mean I’m not appreciative, of course, that people are fans, or happy to see me.”
Her attempt to defend her distorted perception did little to redeem the star, but she kept on talking about her challenges with fame.
“I like to be in my own thoughts that have nothing to do with what other people think of me,” she said, seemingly unaware of the career choice she made.
“I don’t like being self-conscious,” she told In Style. I don’t think Johansson has a lot to worry about anymore. The people who did follow her career have likely just been turned away. It’s hard to imagine fans will care much about her anymore.
As an actor I’ve always thought she is terribly overrated.
I think her career got rescued by being in the comic book movies.

You don't run to the grocery store or run errands with full, professional makeup, so why have unflattering pics plastered all over the internet in such a state of appearance?
I dunno...I’m not a fan of her or anything, but I think I understand what she’s saying. She wants to be left alone in public. I know you kind of bring that on yourself because you are “famous”, but I can see where it gets on your nerves to have people always wanting to come up and bug you for pictures and/or small talk.

When you seek fame and fortune and get it, there’s a price. You are now a public figure and you can’t snap your fingers and turn that off.
Gene Simmon (KISS) is a savy businessman. (Love him or hate him) He has always known the fans are his paycheck and has always been appreciative. They buy the tickets, the albums, the merch, they are his best advertising and for free. He has alway put Kiss fans first and never turns them away. Again, love him or hate him, I give credit where credit is due. He gets it.
That's why I prefer pets over public.
A bit callous in how she expressed it. I’m not totally unsympathetic to a famous person who doesn’t like being constantly mobbed by autograph seekers and people wanting selfies with them when they are out and about. I’ve heard some athletes express similar thoughts about people constantly coming up to them when they’re out to dinner with their families. I can understand that.
For some like her I’d suggest trying to be incognito (eg hat, sunglasses, etc) as much as possible when going out in public. If approached by fans, try to be good natured about it.
Me, too. I've heard the name, but had to look her up (I confused her with Charlize Theron the South African and American actress).

There are so many Hollyweird celebrities that deserve our scorn. But, Scarlet Johannason has earned a lifetime pass from me for this music video which I consider to be one of the most surprisingly talented ever. If you chaps can watch this video without crushing on SJ you need testosterone therapy:
