President Donald Trump is planning to use a 200-year-old wartime law to authorize the deportation of some migrants, including sending them to Guantanamo Bay.
Trump will invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 as soon as Friday, according to reports, as he escalates his war on illegal immigration.
The law gives presidents the power to order the arrest, detention and deportation of noncitizens who are 14 years or older and come from countries staging an 'invasion or predatory incursion' of the U.S.
Trump has long vowed to protect the border and vowed mass deportations in his second term.
In his first weeks in office, he moved U.S. troops to the border, had immigration officers launching raids in cities across America and placed more immigrants at risk of deportation.
The primary target of this new move is the Tren de Aragua (TDA), a Venezuelan organized crime group that Trump had declared a foreign terrorist group.
Trump's move is expected to face a court challenge.
His administration began moving migrants to Guantanamo Bay, a U.S. military base in Cuba, in January after Trump signed an executive order 'to instruct the departments of Defense and Homeland Security to begin preparing the 30,000-person migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay.'

Who cares about the title or if it is archaic, as long as it works?
Winning!!!
Archaic? The people of the enlightenment during the 17th century were arguably much more intelligent than the people of the 21st century. The federalist papers were written to a level to the yeoman farmers of the late 17th century. Now most college students struggle to understand them.
Time for a little taste of their own lawfare medicine.
Not as archaic as the Constitution.
The socialists always talk about how old and outdated a law is, when they dont like it.
The socialists talk about its settled, its precedent, its long established law, when they do like a law, though.
I guess to the LSM then the constitution is Archaic.
Yup! Archaic = W.I.N.N.I.N.G.!
Didn’t Meritless Garland use a Civil War era law to charge people from January 6th?
Now, most college student including those getting Doctorates, can NOT read cursive writing; let alone do it.
I remember when Trump was being prosecuted under the Espionage act from WWI rather than the laws regarding classified information.
Yes he did.
May it continue.
đź’Ż.
Or even physically put a pen onto paper to write, for that matter.
Very sad, but true.
Thanks...I thought I remembered it right. I did online searches, but couldn’t find anything.
True. The dolts who sign swore an oath to the Constitution today think we are a “democracy.” Even reciting the Pledge of Allegiance didn’t give them a hint.

China
Pakistan
Bangladesh
Guatemala
And so on...
I have seen the Biden era videos of 100s of military age men, scamming their way across the border as asylum seekers.
