As the deadline to avert a partial government shutdown approaches and President Donald Trump urges Republicans to support passage of a funding measure, Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., has declared that he will oppose the proposal.
"Unless I get a lobotomy Monday that causes me to forget what I’ve witnessed the past 12 years, I’ll be a NO on the CR this week. It amazes me that my colleagues and many of the public fall for the lie that we will fight another day," Massie declared in a Sunday post on X.
President Donald Trump has urged Republicans to pass the measure.

“Why would I vote to continue the waste fraud and abuse DOGE has found? We were told the CR in December would get us to March when we would fight. Here we are in March, punting again! WTFO,” Massie declared in a tweet.

What does WTFO Mean?

Hey Dufus, things change, especially with all the moving parts of the Federal Government and the impacts it has on the economy, and other various factors.

“Why would I vote to continue the waste fraud and abuse DOGE has found?" The response we get is: because "Team Trump" is playing a game of 4D chess, we should continue to fund the same corrupt programs, and have the same bloated $2 trillion debt, that Biden had.

Government should be small and inexpensive. Government should NEVER be a career. Most of the necessary government agencies should be privatized, and those that aren’t should have immensely powerful citizen oversight.
To: RandFan
They really need to get into the nitty gritty on the budget. Roll up the sleeves. If they need to do rolling CRs every 30 or 60 days so be it, while they inspect everything... Esepcially what DOGE uncovers. DOGE should be reporting its findings to Congress so Congress can go in and cut out the excess from every agency and department. Use that to write new budgets and keep rolling them over with more and more cuts as they are discovered.

i support Trump 99% but I can’t say I disagree with Massie here. If we can’t win now with control of Congress and the White House then it’ll never happen

ABSOFRICKINLOOTLY...
IF the CR was short, 30-60 days fine.
But to continue the already hyperinflated 2024 spending til the end of September is deceitful and disgusting. The ppl elected Trump to Cut, Cut, Cut!!!

And the one who without a doubt is aware of the moving parts and without a doubt is committed to fixing the mess our govt is... is Trump. Give him what he needs so he CAN fix it.
