A Maryland hairstylist is facing criminal charges after she posted a shocking video showing her dragging a 15-year-old client across the salon floor over a dispute about a $150 bill.
The now viral video shows Jayla Cunningham, 18, pulling the girl down the hallway by the hood of her sweater and forcefully yanking the teenager into a room next to a bag of trash, causing her to slide on the hardwood floors.
'Sit right here until somebody sends it,' Cunningham could be heard telling the teen, presumably about the payment, in the video she originally posted to social media herself, according to Fox 5.
'I'm not ******* playing. You just tried to ******* run,' the foul-mouthed stylist continues. 'You lucky I ain't beat the s**t out [of] you.'
She could then be seen cutting part of the girl's hair before she walks off-camera.
Meanwhile, the girl could be seen touching her hair and pulling herself up as Cunningham comes back into view and stares directly at the surveillance camera recording the March 2 incident.
The teenage client's mother has since filed a police report, telling Fox 5 that Cunningham also grabbed her daughter's hair when she went for the hood.
She said her child was left traumatized by the incident, and when asked directly how her daughter was doing, she replied, 'not good at all.'

I understand the law got called anyway
Can you break $175 dollar for me?
Perhaps. But like you say, people who use these apps know this, and still need to pay for goods and services rendered. Its up to them to have a backup way. And since the mom sent the kid this way, the mom should have sent the kid with another way to pay.
Yeah, such a “shocking” video. I have never seen anything like it. It’s such a surprise. Inconceivable.
I can’t wrap my head around bill for $150 at a hair salon.
Great Clips.
i have been told that the way to get a free haircut is to go to the hairdresser, get the haircut, complain about a minor issue, and walk out without paying.
clients from some demographics are more likely to do this than from other demographics. among hairdressers, it is a known, common, and financially non-trivial problem.
Agreed on you pluralizing “parents”. Almost always the problem is that there’s only one parent.
But that $150 wouldn’t even cover a tip for Gavin Newsom and this one:

Cost Of Edwards’ Haircut Hits $1,250
July 5, 2007 / CBS/AP
Beverly Hills stylist Joseph Torrenueva tells the Washington Post that one of his haircuts for Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards cost $1,250 because Torrenueva had to fly to Atlanta and missed two days of work as a result.
“He has nice hair,” Torrenueva told the newspaper. “I try to make the man handsome, strong, more mature and these are the things, as an expert, that’s what we do.”
Torrenueva, a Democrat, said he began cutting Edwards’ hair for free but wound up charging him $300 to $500 per haircut, plus the cost of airfare and hotel stays. That’s because Torrenueva was often forced to meet Edwards on the campaign trail to shear his locks.
I am on her side as well.
I’ve got one that looks somewhat suspicious. Should I take it to the bank tomorrow?
“six $25”
Yes, nobody counterfeits those because the denomination is too small. But those $150s are juicy targets!
Unga bunga binga bunga bunga...
Team hairdresser. She knows the law is toothless in Maryland.
fafo
😆
Sympathetic yes, but POSTING a video???? No.
It’s them again, Yogi.
Looks like both sides are a little “ratchet” on this one.
