Russian forces damaged Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure overnight in their first major missile attack since the U.S. paused intelligence sharing with Ukraine, piling pressure on Kyiv as President Donald Trump seeks a swift end to the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, seeking to shore up Western support for his country after Trump's diplomatic pivot towards Moscow, called for a truce covering air and sea, though not ground troops - an idea first mooted by France.

"The first steps to establishing real peace should be forcing the sole source of this war, Russia, to stop such attacks," Zelenskiy said on the Telegram messaging app, responding to the overnight missile attack.

Ukraine's air force said Russia had fired a salvo of 67 missiles and 194 drones in the overnight attack, adding that it had shot down 34 of the missiles and 100 of the drones.

Regional officials from the northeastern city of Kharkiv to the western city of Ternopil reported damage to energy and other infrastructure. Eight people were injured in Kharkiv and two more, including a child, were hurt in Poltava, officials said.

"Russia continues its energy terror," Energy Minister German Galuschenko said. "Again energy and gas infrastructure in various regions of Ukraine has come under massive missile and drone fire."

Russia targets Ukrainian cities and towns far from the front lines every night with drones, but Friday's attack was the first large-scale assault since the suspension of the U.S. military aid and intelligence this week.

Without the US targeting information (basically loaded by Americans before the Ukrainians pushed the button) these missiles should be significantly less accurate.

If they are not noticeably less accurate, it means the Brits gave them our data.

I am talking about Ukrainian missiles. Not Russian missiles.

I have a feeling Zman will double down on stupidity and continue to refuse a cease fire or peace negotiations.

If the Ukrainian population is lucky, maybe they have a Claus von Stauffenberg that will successfully take him out.

“Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, seeking to shore up Western support for his country after Trump’s diplomatic pivot towards Moscow, called for a truce covering air and sea, though not ground troops - an idea first mooted by France.”

Start over:
President Trump pivoted towards peace. Mr. Zelensky wants war. He called for a truce covering air and sea but not ground troops. This idea was first advanced by France.

You need to keep up with the news. Zelensky has said that he is willing to negotiate. It is Putin who says that he not, unless all of his demands are met beforehand.

The Ukie Dictator came to our White Hose and the used that opportunity
to spew his Propaganda on National TV. Hopefully, his own people will
get rid of him. Zelensky, like Zeepers, want Forever War and Grift.

So the adversary is a nation and group of left leaning nations (one in particular fighting for its life), none of which are military threats to the US, or it is a lustful invader seeking former glory for his country, who is allied with China, Iran and N. Korea (Communists, Muslims and Atheists).

All of which are military threats to the US, two being nuclear, and one that the US is effectively aiding by hindering the defenses of the invaded country. Ostensibly in order to compel them to accept a peace of submission to the invader and military threat to the US.

Which invasion the invader propagated was necessary since there is no justifiable warrant for NATO, as if invading Ukraine did not affirm the premise of NATO.

"The first steps to establishing real peace should be forcing the sole source of this war, Russia, to stop such attacks," Zelenskiy said

Forcing? Uh, Zelenskyy, you rejected a path to peace one week ago today and Trump might have secured a cease-fire by now.

It’s way past time Ukraine agreed to negotiate and immediate end to the war.

Zelensky has said that he is willing to negotiate.

You're lying.

He has not agreed to do that without US security guarantees, which are not happening.

Trump gave him the only option -- the minerals deal that would result in US workers being on the ground. And, he hasn't signed the deal.

There is a difference between a negotiated peace and total capitulation. Putin is demanding the latter. Why do you and all the other Russian apologists put all the responsibility on Ukraine rather than the country that actually crossed the border with their troops? Putin could have a neutral Ukraine but he wants more. He wants Ukrainian land and a subservient Ukraine, a prospect that many here seem to support.

There are ONLY two choices:

1) Continue the war and lose more lives and territory or

2) End it and save lives and what's left of Ukraine.

As Trump has said, Ukraine has no cards to play.

The only cards to play will be with a mineral deal and US workers on the ground.

The Ukrainian government isn't close to being neutral and you know it.
