Putin says any Ukraine peace deal must ensure Russia's security, vows no retreat

Russia will seek a peace deal in Ukraine that safeguards its own long-term security and will not retreat from the gains it has made in the conflict, President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday in comments to relatives of soldiers killed there.

Putin also took an indirect swipe at French President Emmanuel Macron, saying Western leaders should not underestimate the Russian people and should keep in mind the fate of Napoleon Bonaparte, whose invasion of Russia in 1812 ended in disaster.

"We must choose for ourselves a peace option that will suit us and that will ensure peace for our country in the long term," Putin told a group of Russian women who have lost loved ones during the three-year war in Ukraine.

Asked by the mother of one fallen soldier if Russia would retreat, Putin said he did not intend to do that. Russia currently controls just under a fifth of Ukraine - or about 113,000 square km.

At times during the meeting some women wiped away tears.

Z won’t make a deal. Trump is right to hang him out to dry. Ukraine needs to get rid of him.
If Z were smart and he is not, he would be negotiating for his parachute. Maybe he could get at this point is a 500k condo in Cyprus. Otherwise, he might get prison or worse at the hands of his political opponents.

Putin started this war. Period.

—————————
This war started in 2014 with Maidan, enabling the Ukie Neo Nazis to start shelling the ethnic Russian Donbass. They killed 12-14,000 ethnic Russian civilians.

Are the Ukrainians going to be forced to love Putin and Russia as part of the peace deal? His Special Military Operation was not an effective way to secure sincere love & sincere appreciation. The people who have lost loved ones or experienced other suffering are going to remember this on Tiktok, Instagram, and other places for decades to come.

That’s why this Special Military Operation may continue on much longer than the Great Patriotic War for Russia :( Keep in mind that Putin has the mindset that is a combination of Stalin. Catherine the Great, Alexander, Peter the Great, and Ivan the Terrible combined. Those are his real heroes.

Ukraine’s “Mossad” will take care of business for decades after the war ends.

What did Ukraine do in way of violence against Russia before 2022? Compare it honestly to what Russia has done 2022 onward. There is no comparison. If you are going to try to defend Russia then please stop it with such misleading soundbites.

Personally, I support Trump’s approach on the matter with 1 exception, he should NOT have met with Zelinskyy in the Oval Office until Zelinskyy had agreed in writing to whatever Trump needed to ensure that Zelinskyy would not disrespect the Oval Office. Its unfair to Trump to be blamed for that meeting outcome.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine was not the unprovoked attack you war-enthusiasts pretend it was.

All NATO had to do to avoid the Russia conflict was keep its promise to refrain from expanding NATO.

It started in 1990 when James Baker promised Gorbachev that NATO would not expand one inch further eastward if Russia agreed to the reunification of Germany, thereby officially ending WW II.

https://nsarchive.gwu.edu/document/16117-document-06-record-conversation-between

Gorbachev agreed, but within four years NATO began expanding eastward anyway.

The Russian invasion occurred when NATO began teasing NATO membership for Ukraine, whose name literally means "borderland" in Russian because it is on the border with Russia and has been the origin of numerous invasions of Russia in the past.

“Western leaders should keep in mind” Prigozhin. There is simply nothing to be gained by dealmaking with a mass murdering Kremlin Bolshevik such a Putin. History has shown us he will never cease murdering and destroying as long his illigimate regime occupies the Moscow Kremlin.

“This war started in 2014 with Maidan, enabling the Ukie Neo Nazis to start shelling the ethnic Russian Donbass. They killed 12-14,000 ethnic Russian civilians.”

!-—— idiot! -——!

This claim is false. The statement significantly misrepresents the casualties and nature of the conflict in Donbas from 2014 to 2022.

According to the United Nations, the total number of deaths in the Donbas conflict from April 2014 to December 2021 was approximately 14,200-14,40015. However, this figure includes all casualties, not just civilians, and certainly not just ethnic Russian civilians. Here’s the accurate breakdown:

Civilian deaths: Approximately 3,40415

Ukrainian forces: Around 4,400 killed15

Pro-Russian separatist forces: About 6,500 killed15

It’s important to note that:

The civilian casualties were not all ethnic Russians, as the Donbas region has a mixed population of ethnic Ukrainians and Russians1.

Civilian deaths were caused by both sides of the conflict, not solely by Ukrainian forces23.

The majority of casualties occurred in the first year of the conflict, before the Minsk agreements aimed at ceasefire1.

The claim that Ukraine “started shelling” ethnic Russians in Donbas is also misleading. The conflict began after armed Russian proxies declared independence in the region following the 2014 Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine1.

Z supporters ignore what Ukraine did during a genocide against Russian speaking people as if IT NEVER HAPPENED

Not ignoring but denying. IT NEVER HAPPENED! It is just Russian propaganda.
