Putin 'REGRETS' triggering full-scale war which has cost hundreds of thousands of lives and 'didn't expect it to turn out like this', dictator's ally Alexander Lukashenko admits

Vladimir Putin 'regrets' triggering a full-scale war costing hundreds of thousands of lives, his closest international ally has claimed.

Belarus dictator Alexander Lukashenko said: 'We haven't talked about it, but I know him well.

'Putin didn't expect it would turn into such a war.'

The close Putin crony told interviewer Mario Nawfal on X: 'When he saw a huge number of people dying, Putin instantly agreed to the negotiations to stop the conflict.'

This was earlier in the war, in 2022, and, Lukashenko claimed, Putin was ready to negotiate 'on NATO, on demilitarisation, on denazification', as he described it, 'on not killing [Ukraine's] Russian speakers, on not cracking down on the Russian language in Ukraine'.

'It was all on the agenda. He wanted to negotiate when he saw what it had turned into.

'So I think he probably regrets it turning into such a full-scale conflict, a war, which he probably did not expect.'

This is one hell of an article.

The beginning of the article explicitly states that none of the quotes attributed to Putin here were actually said by Putin at all.

But they go ahead and write the rest of the article as if he said these things anyway.

“Vladimir Putin ‘regrets’ triggering a full-scale war costing hundreds of thousands of lives ... Lukashenko said: ‘We haven’t talked about it, but I know him well. ‘Putin didn’t expect it would turn into such a war.’”

so, apparently Putin thought he was going to be able to annex a whole nother country for free ... he thought wrong ...

Putin was ready to negotiate 'on NATO, on demilitarisation, on denazification

In other words, no outside support, only a token army incapable of defending itself, the imposition of a pro-Russian government, and the suppression of pro-Ukrainian nationalism. The proper word for this "peace" is surrender.

All he has to do is leave Ukrainian territory and quit firing at them.

He's not on Ukrainian territory.

His army is in oblasts of the Russian Federation.

If the little green grifter keeps screwing around and mocking The Trump, soon the Russians will be on the territory of Ukrainian oblasts.

But they won't be Ukrainian oblasts for long - just up until the elections for Russian Federation membership...

We'll never know. But I heard rumors that Putin was willing to retreat to the Donbass and Crimea in 2022.

Zelensky said no. He wanted Ukraine to recapture all the Russian occupied territories of Ukraine.

He should have gone for a ceasefire in 2022. He would have kept more land than now.

Trump was basically criticizing Zelensky. He had more “cards” in 2022 than right now because his army is getting depleted. Zelensky would rather fight to the Last Ukrainian but Trump won’t let him do that.

Your two-line comment was more useful and educational than the entire ridiculous Daily Mail article.

True, but he’s socked away much more grift since then.

Russia had more Ukrainian territory in 2022 than they have now. They lost 50% of the territory they occupied back then.
