The possibility of holding a meeting in Minsk between Russian President Vladimir Putin, US leader Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky has not yet been discussed, but for Moscow, the capital of Belarus would be the best negotiating location. This position was voiced to journalists by the press secretary of the head of the Russian state Dmitry Peskov.

"It was not raised and was not discussed in any way. But, of course, for us, Minsk is the best place. It is our main ally. Therefore, for us, it is the best place for negotiations," the Kremlin representative said in response to a question about whether the option of holding negotiations in Minsk is possible.

It need to be somewhere else, a real neutral country, not Minsk. I don’t trust Belarus.

Name that “real neutral country”.

I’m not sure it exists.

The last accords out of Minsk didn’t work out so well.

Make the agreement there and blow up their parliament building that night. Payback.

I have confidence in the perspective of Viktor Orban. He is part of Europe but also understands Russia.

He has always been strong supporter of President Trump.

Viktor Orbán doesn't exactly stand with Ukraine. So, what makes it neutral in your mind? The Minsk accords were led by Macron & Merkle, were they not? They too were not exactly neutral.

Vladimir Zelensky

I have little respect for a "news outlet" that cannot even use the correct name for Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

But Hungary proper is NATO, even if Orban would be as likely as Lysichenko to comply with article 5. Balanced out, see?

I too have confidence in Orban’s ability to stay bought by Putin/the oligarch mafia. He really does understand Russia.

No, because NATO is absolutely not neutral at all. They were the whole cause of this conflict in the first place. Best to keep it between Trump , Russia and a Ukraine that is serious about stopping the conflict. There were better ways to bring Ukraine more into the Europe's orbit and peacefully I might add..

So, no I do not see your logic at all. It's akin to the RINO attempts to solve the porous border issue, which was totally unacceptable & was as worthless as teats on a boar hog.

Russia has shown that they are willing to negotiate with Trump. Why not put the best negotiator to work on the goal, to provide the best outcome for both combative nations?

That is like looking for a new creator to remake the world, in my opinion.

My “logic” was sarcasm.

There is no “negotiation” possible in this. Other than for very temporary ends. Trump is not prepared to deal with totalizing people. Trump likes finding win-win, which is nice. But we are dealing with something else entirely.

I watched Tucker Carlson in 2 interviews with Victor Orban. I think I understand what the situation actually is.

Our deep state, EU, NATO and the UN all backed this at the expense of the USA.

I know Putin is not an ally. But Zelensky is in over his head. It will not end well for him or Ukraine, regardless.
