It's Ramadan ...

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm), prayer (salah), reflection, and community.

It is also the month in which the Quran is believed to have been revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The annual observance of Ramadan is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam and lasts twenty-nine to thirty days, from one sighting of the crescent moon to the next.

Fasting from dawn to sunset is obligatory (fard) for all adult Muslims who are not acutely or chronically ill, travelling, elderly, breastfeeding, pregnant, or menstruating. The predawn meal is referred to as suhur, and the nightly feast that breaks the fast is called iftar. Although rulings (fatawa) have been issued declaring that Muslims who live in regions with a midnight sun or polar night should follow the timetable of Mecca, it is common practice to follow the timetable of the closest country in which night can be distinguished from day.

The spiritual rewards (thawab) of fasting are believed to be multiplied during Ramadan. Accordingly, during the hours of fasting, Muslims refrain not only from food and drink, but also from all behavior deemed to be sinful in Islam, devoting themselves instead to prayer and study of the Quran.

Freepers, this is a weird "festival" in my opinion they won't even drink water (all day). Good luck to them but I don't understand a month of fasting.

Well happy ramalama-ding-dong!

>> Muslims refrain not only from food and drink, but also from all behavior deemed to be sinful in Islam

So, knifing innocent people and crashing trucks into crowds of them... is that “behavior deemed to be sinful in Islam”? Or is that behavior that is allowed, even recommended, in that Quran they’re studying?

Contrary to what “W” said after 9/11 — ISLAM *IS* THE PROBLEM!

In a show of solidarity (as I finish my cup of coffee) this morning, I am limiting myself to just one yogurt cup.

Peace, out.

Considering how terror attacks increase during ramadan, the answer is obvious.

It’s not fasting if you gorge yourself when the sun isn’t up. Some gain weight during Ramadan. Like you say weird.

I have no empathy for anyone who follows or safeguards this satanic belief.

Is this when Muslims give up gum and candy, like Catholics during Lent?

They are doing intermediate fasting, meaning that they are just not eating during part of the day.

Some people do this for weight loss.

It’s Lent too, and nobody is writing articles about it. Only about the sixth century cultists.

To a lot of them, Ramadan just means they have to sneak the sips and nibbles during the day. Or the cigarettes. I witnessed it on several occasions.

They don’t fast for a month.

They fast during the day.

If we want an example of fasting for a month, Christ fasted for 40 days after His immersion in the Jordan, at 30 years old.

The 40th day of that fast happens to fall on the day Israel was instructed to pray and afflict their souls, for 1 day.

That holy day begins on the 9th Day of His 7th month till the 10th Day of His 7th month.

It’s a day He began His 3 1/2 year ministry.

It’s also a day He was presented as a 40 day old babe, when Simeon was looking for the Consolation of Israel, and Anna the Prophetess was fasting and praying night and day..

Israel was commanded to fast and pray one day, 24 hours.

On a day that commemorates their Messiah Of Israel being presented in the temple at 40 days old, AND a day that commemorates Christ, the Messiah of Israel, ending His 40 day fast, and His 3 1/2 earthly ministry of the Passover Lamb beginning.

Someday Christianity might be able to teach Muslims and Jews that only 1 day of Fasting and praying was all God asked His people to partake in, and it’s really all about Christ and His Atoning Work for all of us..

In 2022, Tulsi Gabbard essentially said our Deep State was our greatest threat.

This week she claimed our greatest threat is Muslim extremism.

Let’s hope the Middle East warmongers haven’t got to her.

And by “fasting,” we mean skipping lunch and making a spectacle of it as if they are starving.

Sucks that I knew this but considering over 80,000 afghanis have been dropped on my hometown here in northern CA, totally expected.

Thank you to big daddy government for giving us some of the most backwards humans on earth. Thank you for giving us so many of them too!

Pig out all night. Look pathetic during daylight hours for lack of food and water. I've observed the behavior first hand with a customer team that included a muslim. It certainly trashes productivity at work during daylight hours.

It isn't really a "month of fasting". They eat and drink very little during the day. But each night they sit down to a sumptuous feast and gorge themselves into a stupor.

It's kind of like not eating much Thanksgiving morning so that you can pig out on the turkey and taters later in the day. The difference is that muslims have thirty "Thanksgiving" style pig outs during the month of Ramadan, one pig out per day.

When Jesus went into the desert for 40 days of fasting, he didn't retire into the desert for 40 days of turkey, giblet gravy, and sweet potato pie.
