Bush the Lesser told us that he had looked into Putin's eyes and seen his soul.

This would have been a much better country already if "Dubya" had never been elected. Or re-elected for that matter.

Typical state visit activities where leaders try to get people to identify with them and try to get coverage in the media by providing fodder for the press, smiling and performing for the cameras. Bush was soundly mocked for his idiotic comment about looking into Putin’s soul or whatever it was.

I remember back then all the crazy folks like Code Pink and Cindy Sheehan camping outside his ranch who were supposedly “antiwar” (only when it comes to the US defending itself) but were really just paid agitators assigned the job of trying to demoralize Americans. They supported Iran and Iraq and parroted anything the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans, Cubans, Venezuelans, and such were saying, as part of the ANSWER coalition, with great gusto, often receiving paid trips to visit other countries where they were greeted almost as lovers. They shed crocodile tears for detainess that murdered thousands, but no tears for those thousands.

It is all street theater and sleight of hand.

I remember.

I’m not a fan of Putin or Zelensky, but...

Did Hillary criticize her husband, Bill, when he said he trusted Putin?

And remember, Obama was caught on hot mic assuring Medvedev he’d have more flexibility after the election, and Medvedev promised he’d let Putin know:

I remember Bush walking around holding hands with the Saudi Prince.

With the caption on the pic, “What happens in Texas stays in Texas.”

Relations with Russia were good until Obama got elected. The Democrats, with Hillary as Secretary of State, felt some need to create a bogeyman. The deep state and military industrial complex need a bogeyman too. Putin and Russia were their easy target to achieve their goals.

Under obama, a bogeyman couldn’t be Muslims, who were our real enemies at the time. White men were more politically correct to make our enemy. Democrats “reset” things with Russia that didn’t need resetting. They are the ones that harmed relations with Russia.

[Anyone Remember when George W. Bush used to drive Putin around his ranch?]

I was thinking about just that no more than 2-3 hours ago

At the time the US was busy helping Pootie-Poot build out his oil&gas infrastructure. It was clear that Putin & co. were going to become MUCH wealthier.

He COULD have been a force for good.

Relations with Russia were genuinely improving during this post fall of the Soviet Union time period. Then the filthy, filthy, democrats started insulting and denigrating Russia and Putin and using it as a whipping boy for political purposes against Trump. No wonder Putin is pissed.
