LOS ANGELES -- The 2025 Oscars are officially here.
Conan O'Brien is hosting the 97th Academy Awards, which honor the best in cinema from the past year.
"Emilia Pérez" leads the field of nominees this year with 13 total Oscar nominations, just one shy of tying the record for most nominations by a single film held by "All About Eve," "Titanic" and "La La Land."
"The Brutalist" and "Wicked" follow closely behind with 10 nominations each, while "A Complete Unknown" and "Conclave" round out the top-nominated films with eight nods apiece.
This year's show will honor the city of Los Angeles, showcasing its resilience in the wake of the wildfires that left at least 29 dead and destroyed thousands of homes.
The Oscars ceremony is live on ABC now and is streaming live on Hulu for the first time.
Follow along below with updates throughout the night, and check out all coverage of the 2025 Oscars here.
Macaulay Culkin’s wife will always be Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior. That’s not a movie I would ever have found, let alone watched, but my daughter was right aged for it when it came out, and it became an obsession in her friend group. It’s actually pretty funny and Brenda is great in it. Apparently she has a black belt in one of the martial arts disciplines in real life, and it’s a martial arts movie.
I don’t follow the personal lives of actors closely, but I gather that she has been Mccaulay Culkin’s lifeline as he struggled to turn his life around after falling into child actor Hollywood hell. He was going down for the count and struggled for years. They have two kids.
But... but.... Bambi is a baby deer!
Oh no, I am far to inferior to your 3 perfect brilliance to part of this. I am not sure who can run sound. Maybe Elon Musk? Anyone else will simply dim your three’s perfection.
Not a single Rom-Drama or Rom-Com over Valentine's Day?
Anyhow the cubs are asking to see Paddington in Peru next week and the adults are thinking about going to see The Unbreakable Boy.
I doubt either one will be nominated for an Oscar but they look like solid ficks.
I know I am.
And just like that, a plot point was clarified. :)

Even more depressing.
Some documentary about Israeli military destroying Palestinian homes won the award...
The people, who made the documentary, did give a speech...Complaining about destruction in Gaza...Complaining about US policy being too Pro-Israel...There was a mention about Israeli hostages...The speaker did talk about releasing them...But, the speech was mostly anti-Israel...
I am sure Israeli military has a good reason to destroy Palestinian homes...Like punishing terrorists...
Firefighters are on stage now...
JFK Jr. dated Hannah for several years back in the ‘80s.
Ok, I’ll go. Last year was the 1st year I did not go to see one movie. But the new Superman looks good this year.
I knew the Palestinian film would win.
Given how left-wing most of Hollywood slants, I wonder how the losers tonight are celebrating the winners who were clearly chosen for political purposes.
Miley Cyrus has really cleaned up her act.
I only watch animated films anymore
I will likely see the Led Zeppelin film.
The last time I watched the Academy Awards was when John Wayne won for “True Grit” and I haven’t seen a new film in a theater since Eastwood’s “Unforgiven.”
Daryl Hannah is still alive?
Her music doesn’t resonate with me but she has always been talented and I bet she’d be a great in dramatic acting role!
Gal Gadot, the Wonder Woman, came on stage to give an award later...I do not think she is an Israeli who is "ashamed" of how her country deals with Palestinians...I wonder if she heard the speech...
Remembering people who passed away...Morgan Freeman started by talking about Gene Hackman...Gena Rowlands passed away also...
