This thread was pulled for "Bogus Headline"
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4301490/posts
Yet the link to the article clearly shows that the headline is posted VERBATIM.

It looks as though some of our illustrious mods have an interesting view of what constitutes inaccurate headlines.

Original article:

I was actually starting the VDH ping when it went away.
It did get posted by another person, here:
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4301502/posts
Did you post it after of before that?
It could have been a wrong choice by the Admin and instead he meant to lock it and route comments to the earlier one.
The headline does not have “bad” in it.
The mods here are famous for their lack of communication.....of they pull a post you would think it would be common decency to explain why to the original poster.
Strange. This link:
https://www.dailysignal.com/2025/03/01/10-bad-takeaways-from-the-zelenskyy-blowup/
takes you to the page where the headline, as you rightly say, does not have the word “bad” in it. Did someone change the headline?
The mods do a pretty good job keeping FR on track. Nevertheless, I agree with you. It takes a bit of time and effort to post something here. So it would be nice to get a brief and polite reason when a post is pulled.
Yeah I think it might educate people as to what’s allowed and what’s not and more than likely decrease how many posts need to be removed.....or is that too much common sense?
Also, is there a list somewhere of what sources are banned on FR?
If there’s not there should be, nothing more aggravating than putting a post together only to get a message that says source not allowed on FR.
“and route comments to the earlier one.”
They only lock or delete. Editing headlines to repair stuff for the OP or moving comments doesn’t happen. Instead of a courteous title edit they lock it with a message of “try again”.
It is an extremely simple thing to just edit it rather than locking the whole thread or deleting it and making someone start all over from scratch.
I have seen some very extensive and detailed posts that took a lot of time and work treated as if they are completely insignificant and worthless.
I have many with a claim of “bogus headlines” were applied towards and went and looked and they were absolutely accurate word for word from the source.
Obviously the mod didn’t even click on it to go see or not. Or had a personal bias against the topic.
Yet it is in the URL to the source...
> Also, is there a list somewhere of what sources are banned on FR? <
Here’s one. It’s not particularly easy to find. From the FR homepage, click on Help, then Posting Articles. Scroll far down the page. There’s a link to a list. Here’s the link:

Thanks! 👍
Actually, it is in the Keywords at the top of the main page, as “CopyrightList.”
I just noticed something else. That banned sites link I mentioned in my post #11 is also on the FR homepage, far down the page.
That makes it easier to find than I first thought.
Good catch.
I believe that you’re right:
DS changed the headline.
This column was lightly edited and reprinted with permission from Victor Davis Hanson’s X account.and the VDH X post,
“Good catch.
I believe that you’re right:
DS changed the headline.”
Yes they did. Because the word “bad” is indeed still in the URL to the source.
Kakafu on the headlines for whatever reasons, but VDH is a good and substantial read.
