We have gone from Negro to colored to black to African American to people of color. Keep up! /s
It’s just a constant moving of the standard to keep us re-qualifying as not being racist. It’s ridiculous.
No difference at all, except that ‘colored person’ is the old fashioned way to refer to black people, while ‘person of color is a more modern term, which also includes other minorities, such as latino, American Indian, arab and asian.
I remember driving by some public housing that was under construction when I was around four years old. My Dad commented that the housing was for ‘Colored People’. I’d never seen a black person up to that point, and in my mind we were talking folks in shades of green, blue, red, etc. I asked what color hair they had. “They all have black hair”. That completed the picture in my mind...
