Trump closes the border and suddenly, Mexico's cartel problems are nowhere to be found, Tijuana resident says

Trump has apparently brought peace to cartel-wracked northern Mexico.

So President Trump has closed the border to illegal immigration, declining to accept asylum applications from illegal border crossers, shutting down the USAID spigots to NGOs fueling the migrant pipeline, reading Mexico the Riot Act on its free trade privileges and rapidly repatriating those who attempt to enter illegally.

The daily number of illegal border crossings has gone to the low hundreds, according to the Border Patrol.

And just like that, the brutal cartel violence in northern Mexico is gone.

According to this local from Tijuana:

Wall Street Apes @WallStreetApes Mexico citizen reporting

- The Cartel presence has disappeared in border city Tijuana, Mexico - People aren’t being trafficked anymore - The Cartel isn’t there to charge businesses to operate - Residents aren’t having their money stolen - Cartel members have even been killed - Residents in Tijuana are now very happy

In just a month Donald Trump has even saved Tijuana

No car burnings. No blocked roads. No machine-gun shootouts. No bodies splattered across the pavements and in residential doorways. No shakedowns. No innocent Mexican citizens chased across the border into the U.S. as cartels burn their homes down. No kidnappings of Mexican kids to 'serve' as human trafficking subjects up north.

It's quite likely the Mexican government is doing at least some of what President Trump asked, for -- permitting surveillance flights from the U.S. on cartels, accepting and sharing intelligence on their activities, allowing the Green Berets to train elite Mexican naval troops, the only ones both sides trust as not tainted with drug cash, to swoop down on them, which based on news reports, seems to be happening.

The above demonstrates that liberals are the enemy of civilization. Do we want to save civilization for our children? Then we must eradicate liberalism.

"Liberal." Noun: "Hopelessly evil and profoundly insane." Synonyms: Fascist. Communist. Libertarian. Socialist.

“The above demonstrates that liberals are the enemy of civilization.”

CONCLUSIVELY proves it. How anybody would prefer all the death, crime, mayhem, misery, destruction, and chaos caused by the Dems is beyond me. Just so some mentally ill men can smash women, go into the locker rooms of little girls, let crime run wild in the streets and (most importantly) siphon off trillions of our tax dollars to crooked pols?

Yes.
Let’s face it!
Lot of the Mexican problems are caused by the US.
Mexicans told me many times - the border is populated by people who want to sneak into the US.
They are rather the bottom of the society. They do not have jobs. They are out of place. So they steal, rob, prostitute,...

The cartels are financed by the US (US drug demands).

If stop the flow of illegals and the drug trade - Mexico gets better, no question!

Mexicans do not want these immigrants and they would like to reign in the cartels!

They are just overwhelmed, as is (was) the US.

Western Europe is a softer target.

The cartels can react quickly.

The removal of USAID $ to NGO’s has contributed as well.

Lot of thruth there.

As for the Mexican government? The cartels own most of it. The Cartels are the fourth or fifth largest employer within country...hell all of central America.

One secret not talked about is that they use the reservations to support their trade in the US.

Cartels were created for illegal aliens to get into America with the good old “asylum” excuse. “The cartels are trying to kill me. They already killed my mother, my father, my siblings, my children and all my neighbors. What a joke. Watch Contraband at the Border.

The founding fathers were classical liberals, a/k/a libertarians.

Not sure why you are lumping them in with leftist authoritarian ideologies that rely on heavily centralized government, a surveillance state, and few if any property rights.

Sure, but it is up to Mexico to disperse or otherwise deal them while there.

I do agree that our lust for the drugs is largely our fault, but the imports are poisoned and pushed for Cartel profit, which has accompanying crime problems.

Around 1958 my father in law graduated high school left NH and moved to San Diego. He enrolled in San Diego state and got a job working at night in the factory building Corvair jets. However he lived in Tijuana. Above a whore house.

He eventually learned to speak Spanish fluently. Which led to his career in international sales traveling the world selling textile manufacturing equipment. He is now 87. He still loves to talk about that time in southern CA & Mexico.
Traveling the Baha and other parts of Mexico on a Matchless mortor cycle.

Small world. My Dad worked for Convair in San Diego at that same time, from the time that I was born in San Diego in 1957 until about 5 years later when we moved up to Burbank and he started working for Lockheed.
