Ok buy back price is $1 billion
Trying to understand this.
Ben and Jerry started this brand of ice cream. They want to make liberal political statements, but when they sold the company and became quite wealthy, they lost the ability to make their statement as a corporate statement?
Can’t they still speak out as individuals and not on behalf of the brand?
I’m clearly missing something.
Telenti tastes better it’s been a decade since I’ve had B& J in the freezer.
When are these companies ever going to realize that when they take a political stand, they loose half of their customers. Just sell your product to as many people as you can and keep your mouth shut about politics. Unfortunately for the left leaning companies, liberals do not have as much money to spend as the conservatives.
I haven’t bought B&J for 20 years.
My company now, my rules.
How many decades of our lives have we experienced the high level of media attention given to these two liberals for no reason?
Think of the endless favorable press and serious attention from the media given these two and their little food product, as conservatives they would not be at this place in the celebrity/opinion/newsmaker spectrum, they would never have had any importance or celebrity at all.
it would be in the clauses of the purchase.
Anything the owners say as individuals WILL reflect on the brand.
The same way that whatever Musk does or says will have an impact on the way people perceive his company.
My family is ice cream crazy - but the one brand I will not buy is Ben & Jerry’s.
A good dose of 10,000 Haitian “refugees” straight into Ben & Jerry’s home town in Vermont may change their attitude a bit - but I doubt it. Rich people have a way of shielding themselves from the lefty policies they support and foist on the rest of us.
psst!!! Ben.. Jerry..
It’s not YOUR company anymore..
You sold it, cashed out. You have NO SAY.
Are they gonna put the LSD back in Cherry Garcia?
If this actually happened I'd call it a very smart policy to have.
What non- woke ice cream is better?
I like Ben & Jerry’s ice cream...but ever since I saw “1% for peace” on the packages I’ve avoided it like the plague.
I stopped buying thos when they had their Anti-Israel fiasco.
But, my observation is that.
The markets I frequent used to stock a LOT of their stuff. across the board they had a HUGE footprint
And now their footprint/ shelf space is maybe 1/5th of what it used to be.
There’s probably something in the sales contract.
I think what the issue is that B & J can no longer say their woke screen “as the owners of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream”. Ben can say all he wants, and quite publicly. So can Jerry. Just not “according to the owners of B & J...”
Proud to say I’ve never spent a cent in Ben & Jerry’s.
I hope they get a bunch of LIB Money and make a hostile takeover offer. Let them be stand alone. Easier to isolate. The LIBS will eat more ice cream for a bit, but will quickly tire of it and B&J will start a doom loop.
