I'll be sending my almost 13y/o black lab to her final resting place tomorrow.
Based on her health issues of late, I cannot watch her suffer anymore.
I'm a grown man and am crying as I type this. They say it's easier the 2nd time....no it's not. The first time was just as heart wrenching.
I love you Kacie.
So sad. I’m thinking of you and your sorrow. Our beloved dog Jamie has been in my thoughts many times since his having to leave Earth in 1980. Seems like not long ago due to the pain of remembering it. But some pictures make me start to smile about his cleverness and independent ideas.
Hold on and future days will not be as bad as today for you.
Best.
We say this about all our beloved pets through time:
_______, needed a new body.
Kacie, needed a new body.
It’s time for a new body..
Hallelujah 🙏
I’m terribly sorry you lost your son too. As a father that hits too.
You will see them all again, just be sure to have accepted the gift of salvation that Jesus gives us and you’re golden. If I don’t see you before, I’ll see you there and we’ll talk about the good times because there will be no tears and sorrow there.
We have eight cats waiting at Rainbow Bridge.
I’m not into the supernatural, but I have seen two of them soon after they died, one time each. I KNOW I didn’t really, but it seemed real.
Sorry, my friend! God Bless!
Ok, here is the deal. God told us in the Bible that “it is appointed unto man once to die, and then judgement”. That tells us 2 things. The first is that for certain mankind has one chance to get saved and the second, that creatures other than man probably die multiple times. And that would make sense, since a spirit is required for a creature to have life, and God has far better things to do probably than to keep producing spirits for the zillions of animals and insects on this earth.
Big hugs to you and your pup.
I’m so sorry Kevin.
It just hurts so much to let them go.
My son had to put his beloved Pomeranian down 3 months ago He was 15. He cried for a month grieving.
Two weeks ago at work a Shepherd/husky showed up. It just hung around his employment for days and finally last week he figured God had sent him a new friend .
He has given him his vet appointment, shots and now a good home.
Named him Hezekiah 😁
You’re in my prayers... Kacie’s still with you in many ways - loving memories are comfort.
So sorry... this is very difficult to go through. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I know the pain
A Christmas ornament with your pet’s photo is a great idea! We just had our 15 1/2 year old dog (Bandit) put to sleep today. Black lab and Great Dane rescue. He probably could have hung in there several more weeks, but it was just too painful watching him do tight loop-de-loops in the yard and not being able to make it up the ramp I made for him. His back legs just didn’t have the strength any more. The vet said that it was either from pain or dementia.
I don’t think it was dementia. He would still come when called, would lay down when I told him to, etc. With our first dog it was clear that he was shutting down and the vet couldn’t do it soon enough to put him out of his misery.
Bandit wasn’t as obvious - but it was getting close. Just wishing now that it could have been a few more days. It is so sad. But - he’s chasing cars in doggy heaven now. (Or perhaps coyotes - he used to chase them once in awhile!)
For our first dog the vet came to our house - he didn’t like the vet’s office. Today we brought our dog into the same vet. He always loved going to the vet’s clinic to see her. We brought his bed for him to lay on, and my wife, daughter and I sat on the floor with him and pet him, talked to him and hugged him. He always loved the treats the vet would give him, and this time was no different. Hmm - no tail wagging this time though. Even just three months ago when we brought him in for her to check on him and she recommended some “end of life” things (food, medication, etc.) he wagged his tail.
