“DEI is a culture, a sick culture, and it is EVERYWHERE.”
Agreed. Was at a lefty function a while back, a very nice one, actually, with everyone behaving themselves, and on the subject of the downsides of DEI (poor performance in critical positions, for example), the consensus was that we all just needed to be a little more patient with those advanced beyond their actual merit. The Hive Mind.
“...Something else happened....”
Viewing the video it appears to me the descent was too fast, a hot landing, landing gear couldn’t hold, wing tip dug in ground and crosswind flipped the other wing. Pilot error!!
Yes. Descent rate is a critical factor in such a scenario.
I give pause to labeling this anything but pilot error.
However, like the other crash, I await the actual report and more info.
I do not read transcripts that have timing markers for the video.
So disrespectful of READERS.
I always edit out ADVERTISEMENTS out of my posts, for example.
“I give pause to labeling this anything but pilot error.”
I would too. But I have also worked for huge corporations doing maintenance. And nine times out of ten what they call “operator error” was actually cause and effect from “corporate policy” that causes maintenance neglect.
Nine times out of ten it was because corporate refused to buy brake shoes or address safety issues and the operator had no choice but to drive it or get fired. But accidents are always labelled as operator error.
So I know corporate neglect is also a real thing and the most common cause of these things.
The a/c remained in a slight starboard roll attitude throughout most of the final 100ft of descent...at excessive descent rate. That’s on video.
I read you, but my “but” outlines that the evidence thus far points to inexperienced pilot landing in horrible conditions...badly (obviously).
All good for discussion. Awaiting the report...
Another observer - a former fighter pilot - said it looked like the pilot “drove the plane into the runway” - coming in way too fast and at the wrong angle. He said a commercial jet cannot handle such conditions - why the plane flipped.
It’s a miracle no one was killed.
And yes, I’m sure the $30,000 offer came with an NDA - although I understand not all of them took this, holding out for more.
Exactly. No flare. She just flew it into the ground.
I read in another post that the $30,000 was with no strings attached. They still have the right to sue.
