Conservative commentator and ex-Secret Service agent Dan Bongino has been named deputy director of the FBI, President Trump announced Sunday night.
“Great news for Law Enforcement and American Justice! Dan Bongino, a man of incredible love and passion for our Country, has just been named the next DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE FBI, by the man who will be the best ever Director, Kash Patel,” the president posted on Truth Social.

You have to understand, some of those rogue agents might go into a “bunker mentality”, and be uncommonly hard to dislodge. It may take several sweeps to root out all the subterranean rot.
And make the retribution, when it is served, mandatory and final, so some future Democrat regime cannot simply reinstate them.

Not really. Bongino has a long career in the Secret Service and has been successful in an entirely unrelated field. He is highly qualified.
A lot of deputies and assistants in the DOJ require Senate confirmation.
I was surprised to learn that despite the size of the FBI this is not true of the FBI. Only the director must be confirmed.
You’re right, of course. Reforming a long-standing, entrenched bureaucracy such as the FBI is a monumental task. But I think Kash and Bongino understand this. It won’t be quick or easy, but, at long last, we are on the right path.
Still hoping that General Blaine Holt will be recalled to serve.

It’s been a while since he was the SS Agent guarding the POTUS (Obama was the last, I think, after Clinton). But there’s a good chance he knows behind-the-scenes stuff re people that could be helpful now.
