A counter-extremism analyst has warned that Britain risks becoming a 'global powerbase' for radical Islam unless Sir Keir Starmer's government takes action.
Middle East commentator Amjad Taha says the UK finds itself in 'the extraordinary position' of militant Islam spreading on home soil while declining in countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
He warned that there were 'more extremists in the UK than the Middle East' with radical Islamists hiding behind freedom of speech.
He said there was a rise in sectarian voting and independent candidates seeking election on a pro-Gaza ticket could help lead to Britain becoming a 'global powerbase' for radicals.
Mr Taha, who has 1.6million followers on X and Instagram, raised concerns about what he described as harmful teaching in schools and local communities.
His claims come as Sir Keir's Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner launches a new council on Islamophobia, including a potential official definition of the term -and which some critics have suggested could introduce a 'blasphemy law'.
The Home Office has responded by saying training was being stepped up under this Government for officials 'to spot terrorist ideologies, explicitly Islamist extremism'.
The new body looking into Islamophobia is set to be run by ex-Conservative MP and former Attorney General Dominic Grieve.
It has been lined up to make recommendations on a new definition of Islamophobia that could criminalise certain criticism of the religion - prompting allegations that there could be new curbs on 'free speech'.
Emirati author and social media influencer Mr Taha has voiced concerns about growing radical strains in UK society - while suggesting some Middle Eastern states were 'rolling back ultra-conservatism'.
Mr Taha, an advisor to Middle Eastern institutions countering extremism, 'I think you have more extremists in the UK than you have in the Middle East.

Yeah right! They have tied the hands and even jailed anyone who spoke out about this madness. It is the lack of free speech in Britain that has allowed this to happen. But there is a solution... send them all packing the minute they step out of line.
My wife and I live in one of the leading dumping grounds for illegal immigrants in the United States. And I am not talking about your typical Mexicans... we learned to put up with them long ago. I am talking about those from the 150 other shithole counties that make most Mexicans look like choir boys and girls.
People who live 30 miles away cannot believe it when they come to visit. Local shops and stores have been going out of business because of the huge increase in shoplifting, garbage is dumped everywhere daily, and the streets and roads have become ridiculously dangerous because of bad drivers... But I am assuring you that large numbers have been self-evacuating since President Trump was elected.
The supermarkets have become nearly abandoned compared to before, things that we haven't been able to purchase in months are back on the shelves. And the traffic and litter situation have become much better. We are probably still going to move away because life is too short and just about every other place in the country is now better. But there is now hope here.

It is a hell of a long ways from Georgia in a Commie Stronghold in the Pacific Northwest where the big cities divert the newcomers to places in the outlying parts of the counties. The liberals who live in the big cities are trying to change the character of the outlying areas.
Ask Sweden how things are going with those immigrants (”cultural enrichers”). UK, wake up, the Trojan Horse is within your gates! Soon Churches will burn, Jews and Christians will be stabbed and harassed, and British women will be raped. This is how “they” do it.
