Mark Levin Defies Trump By Backing Zelensky and Trashing Putin — Bashes ‘Sick’ and ‘Un-American’ Foreign Policy

Fox News’ Mark Levin delivered an implicit rebuke of President Donald Trump’s rhetoric about the ongoing war between Russian and Ukraine on Wednesday, debunking a series of false and misleading claims made by the president.

On his radio show, Levin delivered a history lesson on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s rise to power and various crimes, while going to bat for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“People claim to be speaking for you, who are not speaking for you, who are in the media, who are in other positions and so forth,” he continued. “Zelensky ordered martial law — that’s what the constitution there compelled. Zelensky hasn’t called for an election — that’s what the constitution there compels. Now, I’m waiting for the first free election for Vladimir Putin. I mean, this is almost comical in a sick way that Putin is demanding an election. Why is he demanding an election in Ukraine when he doesn’t have free and real elections in his own country? And why does he-, why does he get to call the shots when in fact, he murders people who dare to challenge him?”

“This is what we’re dealing with. Again, old KBG, and not just KBG, he [Putin] was in like Flynn with the Stasi in East Germany. So, I don’t know why there are people that not only oppose Zelensky, but seem to support Putin,” said Levin, attributing said position to a handful of pseudo-intellectuals” pushing “policies that in many ways are un-American in my view, and policies that if they had espoused these policies not that long ago, people would have wondered if they were on the take, or who they’re working for, something like that. Not that they are, but they would wonder.”

Levin has a history of turning on President Trump. It the reason, I refuse to listen to anything he has to say, no matter if I agree with it today.

This is the usual approach that shows me that Levin is lost. The premise is that you have to support one or the other. The reality, though is different. Zelensky and Putin can both be bad guys, but that doesn't mean we now have the ability to make them both lose.

Looking at the facts as they exist now, Russia is in the stronger position, and they always were. That's why it was a bad move to push them with the NATO nonsense, while at the same time, going back on the Minsk Agreements that would have resolved the Donbas.

It's not very desirable to have Putin as a partner, because he is a bad guy. But it's not bad to have Russia as a partner. The problem is that right now, you can't have one without the other. But is that the way it always be? Of course not. It's unfortunate that we have to deal with Putin, but it's in the best interests of the US. You think it was great dealing with Stalin during World War II? No, but it worked out better than the alternative.

Yes you’re right. I just had a quick look. Sentiment in the US Gallup polls started to change around June 1940

I had not looked in years at this but my original statement was correct. There was a lot of skepticism for years about getting involved...

I wish Mark Levin would show up here (again) and answer what’s Un-American about it? The very Founding fathers of the US had a similar policy. “Entangling alliances” they called it?

You have to try pinging him to your request.

Trump wants Greenland.

Peace with Russia does not mean full allyship.

How often in history does the leader of a nation winning a major war then get deposed when the war is concluded?

The example that pops to the top of my head is Churchill but that was in a true democracy.

The New York Times loved Hitler because of the peace agreement with the USSR.

As soon as Hitler invaded the Soviet Union, all the communist atheists of Eastern European descent went rabid anti Hitler.

The grandkids of those commies are the ones that are anti Putin and Russia right now. (Victoria Nuland)

Levin is just doing what the Murdochs and lil Paulie Ryno are telling him to do for a pay check. “The Great One” was a figment of the Hannity’s imagination like Tokyo Rove “The Architect.”

The Ukraine issue is of lesser importance to the US than getting Russia on our side versus China, and also having some leverage with whoever succeeds Putin as boss in Russia. This is what Trump’s current diplomacy is all about. Why Levin has a blind spot about this is a mystery to me.

This could be a career-ending rant by Levin.

He's exposed how compromised he is.

Mark is a Conservative who does not have to try to be popular with anyone nor is a person trying to be popular. He’s always been a Reagan Republican.

Spot on. The problem for Ukraine is that the Donbas is a major source of cash flow.

I think the point is that Zelenskyy isn’t seen as someone who wants to bring this war to closure and find peace. If I recall correctly Z wants nuclear weapons - as if that wouldn’t create a similar action on his own people, and potentially drag other countries into this conflict.

I favor neither Putin or Zelenskyy, don’t care about either of their country’s historical gripes or claims. They need to come to terms for peace, or continue to watch their people die.

Also, WW2 was a defining war of our time and Americans were split on it for years.

Mark Levin trying to suggest an interventionist foreign policy of regime change like Iraq has been normal and OK historically is absurd

He is stuck in 2002 and the Bush years. Many here have moved on from that and many continue to post their personal journeys when they once supported that reckless policy

It’s one of the only reasons i post here. It’s much better
