That’s an excerpt. There’s more at the link!
Have to look into this as I just upgraded my tablet. Probably also affects “Audible”.
Downloaded just last night all of Jack London’s stories from Call Of The Wild, White Fang to Building A Fire and other short stories 99ยข. Didn’t know you could USB, from a computer?
No wifi? C’mon Dad, get with it.
If you do not own a paper hardcopy, you do not own that book.
I have 25,601 Kindle books, how big a flash drive would that require?
If I understand correctly that means we won’t be able to upload any other type of ebook to our kindles? Right now I have hundres of free e-books and from my computer I have a “Send to Kindle” app where I can select the file. It sounds like this is going away too?

I’m computer illiterate. I have a kindle tablet with many, many kindle books on it. What am I supposed to do?
Thanks for letting me know.
I use this feature as it allows me to use cut & paste from the book while performing research.
I'll note the Apress, Manning and Pearson have continued to maintain my accounts and books including updates. Same for Pragmatic Programmers.
There are plenty of great public domain books on the internet, such at at Archive.org.
I download PDF copies (sometimes other formats) onto my laptop, connect the Kindle to the laptop, then drop and drag the ebooks onto the Kindle.
I'm currently reading H.G. Well's The Time Machine.
Amazon will also DELETE your books!!
They will also EDIT your other books!!
I use the Kindle to PC
https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=ruby_redirect?ie=UTF8&node=16571048011
and when you open it you can download each ebook by clicking on the link below each book cover. The ebooks are located here afterward:
C:\Users\your name\Documents\My Kindle Content
Once downloaded you can decrypt them at a later date. Back the folder up to another drive.
The sooner the better!!
You still need programs and plugins like Calibre https://calibre-ebook.com/download and DeDRM_tools to convert and decrypt so you can have a PDF that can be read on any device.
I am looking at these sites to figure out how to do this:

Download them, print them, then put them into a nice three-sided cardboard box with a picture on the front and the title and author printed on the thin side of the box and then.....
I stopped buying Kindle books some time ago because the writing was on the wall that you would be on a perpetual electronic leash. There are plenty of out-of-copyright books available as .pdf or epub which can be loaded onto my Kindle.
I’ve been an Audible member for 20 years. I recently completed a project where I re-recorded them all into unprotected audio files. I will use these files for my own use and not distribute them so let ‘em try to come and get me.
Is “Kindle” still a thing?
I can’t remember reading a book written in the last ten years.
I like to reread books that I haven’t read in three or four decades.
Last year I reread all of Raymond Chandler’s novels and his bio as well.
I found them for free on internetarchive dot org.
They are in PDF format which I like much better than Kindle.
This year I’m going to reread all of Albert Schweitzer’s theological works that I read in the Eighties.
If I wanted to read something recent, I’d renew my outdated library card.
Lots of ways to read books without checking out hard copies.
