this is a fight most Americans didn’t want—and it’s over a wall most Americans don’t want, either.
Americans are largely pro-immigration; three-quarters of us believe that immigration is a good thing. And two out of three Americans think that immigration should either stay at its current level, or increase.
More importantly, one survey found that more than half of Americans don’t want a new wall, or any broad security barrier at the border.
In another survey, 40% of Americans polled chose the president backing down and accepting the $1.6 billion Democrats have already offered for border security as the most popular option for resolving the shutdown (whereas only 24% said Democrats should fund the $5 billion).

I am pro-immigration, just not pro-illegal immigration. Funny how the left refuses to separate those two.
And most people DO support the wall.
Back then, I thought the Wall was absolutely essential.
But just yesterday I heard from Border Chief Tom Homan that illegal border crossing are down from 11,000 per DAY under Biden to now just 249 a day.
THAT’S magnificent!
Maybe a Wall isn’t as important as just actually manning the border and telling people they’ll be arrested and not rewarded if they cross it?
So instead we spent $150,700,000,000 on taking care of illegals between 2021 and 2025. That not counting the costs to deport them now
This was one of the many articles from 2019 that was opposed to spending $5 billion dollars on the wall, like they are so concerned about how the US tax dollar is being spent.
What was the date this article was posted.
Yahoo says waste. I say STFU
bttt
Jan 9, 2019.
$1.5B for the wall. Seems like couch cushion money now.
On what planet?
Because Trump's election proves that we DO want it.
the post-covid surge of illegal migrants into the USA was a planned, calculated, act of war and revenge attack on the United States and its citizens
It was launched by the woke, neo-marxists in the Democrat Party who controlled the vegetable Joe Biden, and was aided by their dozens of globalist agents and contacts from the UN to global NGOs.
It was specific revenge against Americans, particularly conservatives, for having chosen Trump in 2016.

No, building the Wall is essential as ever right now for futures sake. The construction shouldn’t stop until it’s fully completed. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell along with RINO and leftist judges thwarted the funding and completion of it in his first term.
“... one survey found that more than half of Americans don’t want a new wall...”
heavily weighted to dems...
More leftist LIES & BS!..... every decent American citizen wants the borders CLOSED against illegals! ...imho
Well placed rifle shots to the foreheads of illegal border-crossers would accomplish the same for much cheaper.
I didn’t say the Wall wasn’t important—I just said maybe following the law was the most important.
And it is.
We can do both. But without following the law, the Wall is just a wall.
I STILL SUPPORT IT & I WANT IT AS SECURE AS POSSIBLE
