The Trump administration has indefinitely banned the Associated Press from the White House over the wire service's refusal to change AP style from the Gulf of Mexico to the 'Gulf of America.'
Deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich said on Friday the AP's decision 'is not just divisive, but it also exposes the Associated Press’ commitment to misinformation.'
Budowich wrote: 'While their right to irresponsible and dishonest reporting is protected by the First Amendment, it does not ensure their privilege of unfettered access to limited spaces, like the Oval Office and Air Force One.'

Excellent. One of the most self entitled sacred cows of the American print media gets the treatment it richly deserves. There is no other press organization that so thoroughly believes its own leftist moralistic pronouncements and thinks they have an exclusive monopoly on the truth. Now give the New York Times and Washington Post a taste as well.
I don't really care either way. But if it drives the Leftists into fits and distracts them from more substantial issues, I am all for the technique of renaming places.

It is federal land and it was named after McKinley. It was the Alaskan legislature that wanted it changed for tourism reasons.
Trumps decision trumps the state legislature naming land that doesn’t belong to them.
