Pressure mounts on CBS, Paramount as judge declares motion to dismiss Trump’s $20 billion lawsuit ‘moot’

FIRST ON FOX: President Trump scored a victory on Tuesday when a judge deemed CBS and Paramount’s motion to dismiss "moot" as his election interference and news distortion lawsuit moves forward.

Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS News in October, alleging election interference over its handling of a "60 Minutes" interview, accusing the network of aiding his Democrat rival Vice President Kamala Harris through deceptive editing one month before the election.

Last week, Trump’s legal team amended the original lawsuit after the release of the unedited transcript and raw footage of its controversial "60 Minutes" interview. The lawsuit added CBS News' parent company, Paramount Global, as a defendant, citing how the "60 Minutes" election special was platformed on its Paramount+ streaming service. The lawsuit added Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, as a plaintiff and increased the damages claim to $20 billion.

U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk denied a motion from CBS and Paramount seeking to dismiss for failing to state a claim and for improper venue.

"Plaintiffs add a Defendant, a Plaintiff, and a litany of factual allegations and legal claims in their Amended Complaint. Accordingly, the Motions are denied as moot," Kacsmaryk ruled in a court filing obtained by Fox News Digital.

CBS sought to dismiss the case because it believes Texas is an improper venue, with the case being transferred from Texas to New York as an alternative. Kacsmaryk’s ruling means it will remain in Texas for the time being.

I would've went for a gazillion. Kinda sounds like Trump can own them. A day after the verdict, all employees will be given a fresh pair of undershorts.

CBS and 60 minutes should be kicked into the gutter, and drowned in the sewage.

Message The FCC should revoke CBS’s broadcast license after they calculatedly aired an interview w/ Kamala Harris on “60 Minutes” to hype her candidacy.

The Harris interview sparked widespread outrage after the network mislead viewers w/ highly distorted answers from Harris and “doctored” her “word salad” responses.

A lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump, showed CBS violated state law by demonstrating deceptive acts in business conduct wrt the Biden administration’s activities.

“CBS and 60 minutes should be kicked into the gutter, and drowned in the sewage.”

60 Minutes is sewage.

They should sit down and work up a deal.

Admit 60 Minutes screwed up and have a 2-minute apology done at the begging of the next week. Pay Trump $1-billion in cash. Then guarantee Baron Trump a board seat for five years, with a yearly salary of $300k.

” with a yearly salary of $300k.”
A nice thought, but even Hunter’s art brought more than that. I’d suggest Paramount pay Barron 15-17 million dollars/year.

I would like to see the unedited video and audio of her interview. A transcript hides a lot of awkward pauses and other lapses of a clear thought process.

The whole video has been posted. It is devastating for her. I’d say based on that she is done for as a politician.
