Officer stops suspect in a traffic stop, and handcuffs the suspect. Then the officer begins to choke, and can barely breath. The handcuffed suspect somehow gets the officer to uncuff him and then saves the officer's life using the Heimlich maneuver.

Heimlich maneuver? What was the cop doing? Eating while making the arrest?

Hmm...self-Heimlich might be difficult with a car. Probably possible, though.

I had to do the Heimlich on my wife in a crowded restaurant once. Not one person noticed.

Could always be chewing gum, or these days one or two of those nicotine pouches that have exploded in popularity.

Yes! Whatever he did that caused him to be arrested, I’m sure the judge will take that into account. I would think so, anyway- unless the judge is a democrat.

Those in that restaurant probably thought you were just giving your wife an affectionate hug. A gentle Bear Hug.
“Oh look at that couple. How sweet!”

another similar story- a man arrested a woman, was driving her to the station, started to freeze up- couldn’t breathe- the woman knew right away it was fentanyl poisoning, or whatever ya call it- and he finally locked up and couldn’t drive- thankfully he had stopped at that point- it was near enough to the station that she was able to get someone’s attention- who then was able to help him-

Had it happen at a bar about ten years ago.
Big girl was choking on prime rib across the bar.
Skinny boyfriend was trying to comfort her until the panic hit his face and she was obviously in trouble.
Cannot lie here...for a few seconds I was in cognitive dissonance. You think you’ll never actually see this in real life.
As I ran around the bar to her he started yelling; “won’t someone help her? SHE’S CHOKING!” He didn’t know what to do.
I told my others “call 911” and began the Heimlich with much difficulty because she was so large. I resorted to the back of the chair maneuver, which got her cleared. Learn this technique if someone you know is larger.
cognitive dissonance is a very real thing.

Remember when Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) played Elaine's doctor boyfriend? He was Johnny on the Spot when it came to assisting self-rescue.

My wife is on the heavy side for her height-she’s 4’11”, and was sitting in the chair across from me, and those chairs were wide. I couldn’t get both arms around her, so I had to do it with one one arm to reach her middle- gave a couple real hard jerks under her breast bone, and that piece of meat had trajectory. THAT was a scary moment.
We never know when SOMETHING is gonna happen. I keep a close eye on her when we go out….

They didn’t even notice-not even the waitresses. Not one. That was kinda disappointing.
