The young patient and five others killed when their plane crashed into a Philadelphia neighborhood moments after takeoff Friday evening have been identified — as authorities made a disturbing discovery about the jet’s black box.
Valentina Guzman Murillo, 11, her mother, Lizeth Murillo Ozuna, 31, Capt. Alan Alejandro Montoya Perales, co-pilot Josue de Jesus Juarez Juarez, Dr. Raul Meza Arredondo, and paramedic Rodrigo Lopez Padilla died in the Mexico-bound Learjet 55 aircraft crash, the company operating the medical transport flight, Jet Rescue Air, told CBS News.
Valentina had just finished receiving life-saving treatment at Shriners Children’s Hospital and was heading home to Mexico.

“Tragic” is just not enough of a word.......
I’m hearing the BATF is there working with the NTSB. Is that usual?
So sad that the little girl just had life-saving surgery and I am sure she and her mother were so full of hope and gratitude afterward. And then this happens. A tragedy.
This is so sad, may they find eternal peace and joy.
Planes do not detonate mid-air without help.
I’m suspecting a bomb intended for rival cartel member in Mexico that went off at the wrong time with the wrong people on board.
Or a video of a missile going up will be revealed and promptly “debunked”.
Pieces of the A/C were found away from the crash main impact.
Some are saying the A/C broke up in flight, possibly a bomb aboard?.......................
From the FAA website
“ The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF or ATF) does not typically investigate plane crashes. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is the primary agency responsible for investigating civil transportation accidents, including plane crashes, in the United States. If a plane crash involves criminal activity, such as the use of explosives or firearms, the ATF may become involved to assist in the investigation. However, for a standard plane crash, the NTSB would lead the investigation.”
Not a missile imo. There is video of the aircraft at the time of the explosion. It is from a vehicle’s dashcam at an intersection. The explosion is on the port aft of the jet, like 3/4 the way back, outside the plane. Possibly a drone. I didn’t see any missile streak.
I don’t think so unless explosion. Is being considered.
If it had detonated in mid-air wouldn’t the black box (usually carried in the tail of the aircraft I think) have been found someplace other than 8 feet down at the point of impact?
If you can find it, pls post it. My googling isn’t turning-up anything except the final crash explosion.
I tried to find it yesterday and today but no luck. Only place now is blog posts. Scrubbed imo.
That LearJet hit the ground almost vertical, nose down, going very fast.
Maybe. Or maybe not.
Depends on the size of bomb, where it went off, where the box is located (no clue in this plane), etc.
Too many factors and unknowns to conclude anything.
I believe so.
OTOH, aircraft blowing up in the air is unusual.
Me? I think, based on one data point, an oxygen cylinder being found a mile from the impact site, and my wild butt guess at a scenario, that it was a larger cylinder than just an under the gurney one, but was large enough to last the entire flight.
That cylinder broke loose, fell and snapped the valve stem, launching it on a path of destruction through the interior of the airplane, flooding it with pure oxygen, shredding the electrical system, and possibly lancing through a fuel tank.
Pure oxygen, aviation fuel (or even just the organics inside the passenger compartment), and electrical sparks. Not a good combo.
Result? Midair boom, as recorded on a Ring camera, and a fireball falling to earth.
This is very sad and tragic - including to those on the ground.
Any word on what happened?
Yes, and the black box was recovered.
I was immediately reminded of the 9/11 flight, Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania in almost the same manner. The plane apparently buried itself in the ground, no debris recovered, no black box recovered. In fact, none of the black boxes on any of the planes that day were (supposedly) recovered.
Need to investigate the back grounds of the victims. This smells of a cartel hit.
What?
