They should have been rounded up on the spot and all non-citizens deported. While I might not it, citizens do have the right to protest, and they right needs to be allowed as times will change.

The Constitution wasn’t written for the people of another sovereign country.
We the People.
I do believe that a \law\ can be written that makes “the intentional desecration of the US flag by an illegal immigrant while on US soil” (1) a crime, or (2) an act of war.

But they do NOT have the right for that protest to block a freeway, damage property, drink in public, and menace motorists. Every one of those things should result in an arrest and whatever charge applies.
