Scientists still trying to figure out how God does it.

I always think of the satellites....God created the the sun, the moon and the stars...all living.

Man also created satellites...made of nuts and bolts.

In all seriousness, I've thought of the acceleration of the universe's expansion as a direct hit to the old theory of the oscillating universe.

The Christians say that there is so much fine tuning to make things just right for our universe to work, there must be a designer. For decades the atheists countered that with a belief that there are an infinite number of big bangs, with each big bang resetting physics and such, so that random chance could create the seemingly fine tuned universe we live in.

But now we know the universe's expansion is accelerating, not decelerating. In other words, it doesn't look like the universe expands for a while, then starts contracting, eventually becomes another point singularity, then another big bang to repeat the process over and over. It's looking like the big bang was a one-time event .... and it happened to spew everything out just right.

Yup, tiny man thinking he’s finally figured it out….settled science and all that silliness.

I love the way climate scientists measure the sea level. They have a satellite that measures a small strip of ocean at any given time. On each measurement, it has an accuracy of +/- 3 cm. On a surface that is in constant motion, moving often by meters.

But with the magic of averaging, they can boldly claim the sea level is rising 3-4 mm per year, AND this is the fastest pace of increase ever.
