Looks interesting!
Clever, but far from 'near perfect'
“The U.S. Marshals knew it would take patience to track Pan, who was a brilliant MIT graduate student studying artificial intelligence.“
There was nothing, NOTHING brilliant about this moron’s murder plan.
Interesting. Good police work. Kudos.
But do we need more evidence that supposedly “very smart people” - e.g., “brilliant” - are incredibly stupid?
At least the story doesn’t terminate with pings to everytown bs anti-gun propaganda...
Ok, I have a couple of observations, one, ok, Chinese on Chinese crime got it. But I didn’t see exactly why he did it.
Are the parents who tried to help him escape US citizens? If not they should be deported.
Third, that was nice of him to come out and say he was the one they were looking for.... since they all look alike.
Apparently it was romantic jealousy......................
What a clumsy guy, no wonder he was caught so easily.
That ain’t exactly Helen of Troy the face that launched a thousand ships. But I guess she could provoke two Chinamen to scrap...
And the AI genius got his car stuck on train tracks during a getaway, and threw his pistol in the trash at Arbys.
I guess he didn’t run that plan by his Chat GPT.
I find this story to be needlessly short. It lacks some detail and could use a few more paragraphs.
Don't never, ever try to beat the cops at their own game. The odds would be vastly against one.
If you look at the picture in post #2, you'll see WHY that poster said he did it. I just skim read the article but she apparently looks good enough to kill for...
Not sure why they let the parents walk. Perhaps it was a combination of wealth and connections.
It looks like it would be a fairly straightforward prosecution under Ga. Code Sec. 16-10-50, hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal.
All they really had on the parents was circumstantial evidence..................
I’m not really even seeing clever. Bump someone’s car from behind, and when they step out to exchange information, gun them down in front of the quiet neighborhood at night? Then call mommy and daddy to come help you get away?
Doesn’t scream Mensa.
Oh ok, thanks.
Bleh...I’d need at least a few beers before I even entertained the idea.
Brilliant - this is one of the people that use software packages to develop something and have no idea how to read debug logs. The guy left clues all over the place. Kudos to the cops for doing the legwork.
“Not sure why they let the parents walk. Perhaps it was a combination of wealth and connections.”
Chinese privilege. If that was a legacy American, they would be accessories after the fact.
