Step 1: turn off the TV.
18 minutes long, with chapter demarcations.
But we still see major stories and events suddenly without reason or apparent reason drop off the news cycle completely, never to be heard about again. An example, the drones. No one's talking about them anymore, it's as though they never happened. First they monopolized all news sources, then a complete reality change.
Hughes dives into the fundamental principles behind manipulation and influence, summarizing them as FATE:
Focus – Drawing attention to a specific idea or outcome.
Authority – Leveraging perceived expertise or command.
Tribe – Creating a sense of belonging or alignment.
Emotion – Exploiting fear, guilt, or other powerful feelings.

ChyNah Virus, Patriot Act ... come to mind.
While we can't cripple ourselves living in fear, being hyper-aware isn't a bad policy. You might even learn something.

I try to identify Pelosi’s ‘wrap-up smear’: You smear somebody with falsehoods and all the rest and then you merchandise it and then you write it.
If you go to Google and follow it to the AP, the article says Pelosi was describing the tactic that all Republicans use. Projection? You be the judge.
This is a very good video. Thank you for posting.
It should be required viewing for those posting on FR.
Very good post. Thank you.
Begs the question what about the drones? Prime example.
They are being pigeon holed and they still fly overhead. The effort is to make them “normal”.
And is working because we have quit asking...

This is a FReeper article from 2006 called Using the Delphi Technique to Achieve Consensus [or How the Left builds consensus], posted from the Eagle Forum (Phyllis Schlafly's conservative advocacy group). It discusses how group agitators can manipulate a group's thinking towards their desired end. The original article (with formatting) can be found in the Wayback Machine here.
See this YouTube video from 2011 that chronicles how the Delphi Technique was used in public comment meetings in the San Francisco Bay Area during the push to pass a unified mass transit and land use set of bills: Exposing the Delphi Technique in Public Meetings.

It’s all about generating views which allows a commercial message to be squeezed into the narration. The media workers and owners have to be paid and many of them want megadollars. So viewers must have the attitude that they are going to be fed info. that will maximize viewership and profits.
Read. Discuss your findings. Learn from your own interactions. Commercial media is a 4th rate sideshow masquerading as complete information.

Informative. Worth watching.

Looking at Yahoo and DailyMail sites and I am seeing recent stories about Bill Gates and what a great guy he is and that he has regrets about his divorce with the article showing he and his wife and the kids.
I know he planted these articles to gain sympathy.
Another is Warren Buffett who wants to tax the rich except himself and Gates who share a “non profit” where they park their money to avoid taxes.
None of the recent articles explains the countries that want to put Gates on trial for genocide or all the trips to Epstein island so he could have sex with very young teenage girls. Gates is known in Congress for wanting to block the release of the Epstein list.
