One tactic I've noticed is how the media controls what we read about. Nothing has changed much since the advent of the internet except for the fact that we have lost the "investigative" and "watchdog" functions which used to be the province of the "Fourth Estate", as the media once was known by.
But we still see major stories and events suddenly without reason or apparent reason drop off the news cycle completely, never to be heard about again. An example, the drones. No one's talking about them anymore, it's as though they never happened. First they monopolized all news sources, then a complete reality change.

Another example is the assassination of the United Healthcare CEO. There is a story there about corruption in the U.S. healthcare insurance industry, yet it's been completely wiped off the front pages, electronic or otherwise. Not even The Epoch Times is following it up.
Talk about manipulation. And what wonders big money can accomplish in the blink of an eye.
