Trump administration tests the power to email every federal employee at once

The new feature, announced by the Office of Personnel Management, aligns with the goals of DOGE.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s administration is testing a new capability that would allow officials to email the entire federal government workforce from a single email address, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) said in a statement Friday.

The new capability could allow Trump to communicate directly with millions of federal workers across dozens of agencies simultaneously, with a single click of a mouse.

The White House declined to comment.

The effort aligns with the government modernization goals of the new Department of Government Efficiency, headed by tech billionaire Elon Musk, and could take advantage of his team’s engineering experience as they seek to wring savings and efficiencies from government systems.

When email was new I had to send something to the entire company of about 1,000. It didn’t go through so I sent it again.

We had a 5mB limit. The document for some reason was huge, right up to the limit. It took hours to go through.

I found out the next day that the CEO was pretty mad at me. He was in a hotel in Europe trying for hours to get email and being hung up by the silly marketing update I sent.

A couple weeks later he was at our office. He came to my cube and busted out laughing.

I had sheets of paper on the wall where I had written “I will not send 5mB emails to the entire company” 500 times.

What I wanted to do was only reply to the entire City Water Department, unfortunately I replied to the ENTIRE City including the Mayor and the Highly Ridicules Department.

can you imagine a lib posting his response and hitting reply all to trump?

it’s a trap.

for sure, Administration policies could be distributed to all employees at once, and no one could claim to be ignorant of said policies ... potentially a great tool for proving insubordination should such occur ...

i have no idea what you’re talking about ... email would be sent only to official FedGov email accounts and read only on official FedGov equipment ... exactly similar to the way such is done by every large corporation ...

“Make sure you disable the “Reply All” functionality!”

the way i operate my own email lists is to send only to BCC, so no one else knows who else has received the email ..

Hope they give him strong two- or three-factor ID to be able to open that “COMPOSE” page.

wouldn’t it be considered working off the clock? Using non-paid time of the employee to read the messages? And what about people who have plans that get charged for messages?

If they all return to their offices to work, as he has ordered, they can read their emails at their desks. Personell with jobs involving travel are issued a government cell phone.

My wife’s small business owes money to the IRS. During her conversations with various agents, it became apparent that there is no cental database. Mind you, she was trying to pay and wanted to get a current amount owed.

She got bounced around to different agents. No single agent had access to all the data. Any high school kid or anyone with just a little experience with sequel programming could have pulled this info in minutes.

The fact is, the government databases, particularly the IRS are apparently archaic and compartmentalized. There is nothing challenging about consolidation by tax id or SS#. It just takes the will and money to do it.

It also takes the will to implement a system the will make a whole lot of union employees obsolete.

Periodically send out a mass email. Anyone not on authorized leave that does not respond in 30 minutes is terminated.

Would have to be 3.5 hours, due to U.S. time zones. Then there's Hawaii...

When I worked for a global company, there were many times when I didn't get to sleep through the night because one person in a workgroup was calling from London and another was working in Japan, and I was midway between—and, as a contractor, was the "low person" on the totem pole.

“There are offices where there are air gaps between their internal servers and the internet. Causes issues when software updates are rolled out. ted, put on physical storage devices, then uploaded.”

I read about how The Jew (as the Left calls Israel) likely managed to get their StuxNet over their air gap to destroy Iran’s centrifuges. Just one careless worker was all it took.

The capability for the boss (the president)to communicate with the entire fascist federal bureaucracy with a single e-mail is obviously fascism writ large.
