Back in the day we used to dress up to get on an airplane.
Bring back class.
I agree, but it works both ways. People used to get dressed up for an airplane flight like they were looking forward to a special experience.
Airport and airline staff generally delivered and made a flight a special experience for their passengers. Decent meals were served, kids got a little model airliner, seats were comfortable, and flight staff was courteous and attentive...the kind of things people didn't mind getting dressed up for.
Nowadays, everything from arrival to departure is akin to herding cattle into a barn, and disgorging them on the other side. Treat people like animals and you can expect them to dress, act (and sometimes smell) accordingly.
Re-regulate the airlines.
Bring back Pan Am.
Bring back cute stewardesses.
Raise fares.
Force the riff raff back to Greyhound.
Things have changed in many areas of life such as this.
Schools used to have dress codes. Girls wore dresses and boys wore nice shirts and pants. No blue jeans or t shirts or shorts.
People used to get dressed up to go to church.
People used to dress nicer in office jobs than they do now.
That was when airlines respected passengers. Now they treat us like cattle without food. The airlines did this to themselves.
