Why would he resign so quickly?
To: Libloather
Probably in with the cartels and human smuggling.

I am curious as to why they didn’t have a heavily armed, 50-member SWAT team show up at his home at 4 a.m. to have him accompany them to his office ... after scaring the hell out of his family, of course.

They didn’t do all that because CNN was not available.

I’m beginning to believe we will see similar chickens coming home to roost at the offices of hacks Merchan, Smith, Chutkan, hopefully the whole Lawfare insurrectionist nest of vipers.

I’d guess he’s got quite a bankroll by now.

The site also notes that the judge was born in Medellin, Columbia, and arrived in the U.S. when he was just 9 years old on a tourist visa. He remained in the country and lived undocumented for 15 years before obtaining lawful permanent resident status, the site added.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Rhode Island is so left that many of its residents refuse top admit they are right handed.
The state also is the residential province of every mafioso who has operations in the area from New Jersey to Maine.
Wonderful that the FBI is after real crooks who damage our communities and work under the table for organized crime.(Notice the tenderloins behind him in the photo.)
The good judge appears to be one of these, a real good Rodeo Islander who has resigned now:

A quick resignation cuts off the Sate’s jurisdiction on ethics review of his cases decided with payola from crooks? Tat gives him time to destroy evidence maintained outside of the court offices.
That’s what it looks like.

He’s dirty, to be sure. I’m always interested when the FBI ‘raids’ someone’s home or office. Hell, I might be next.
To: dforest
My first thought as well.

“I might be next.”
The FBI can make oopsey mistakes in its raids.
“Show me your warrant and supporting affidavit.” is a good line. They have to have probable cause....and its the only way to see if they have the right address.
But here, my bet is that they just took down a queer judge who has done to many favors for money. My gaydar went off when I saw his photo with his two “clerks” behind him.

If it’s a search warrant, A copy of the sworn affidavit must be given to the suspect. The government has to ‘show its hands’, to some extent.

It seems odd.
Lawyers usually write the law so other members of their profession never have to live in prison.
