US President Donald Trump has threatened Russia with steep tariffs and sanctions if the war in Ukraine does not come to an end soon.

Having barely settled back into the Oval Office since his second inauguration on Monday, the second term president has taken aim at a number of his pre-election promises. Now, Trump has posted a warning message to Russian president Vladimir Putin in which he called on him to end his brutal war in Ukraine.

-snip-

“We can do it the easy way, or the hard way - and the easy way is always better."

Doubling down on Biden's failed policies isn't an option, certainly not one that will work.

The only leverage is drill, baby, drill, which will happen no matter what.

All it takes to end the war is cutting off all military funding to Ukraine.

Trump sanctions won’t be Biden sanctions and Putin knows it.

There is no chance Trump will allow this failed proxy war to suck up taxpayer money and be a distraction to his agenda.

Thus, he's not doubling down on Biden's policies and continuing to fund a war that Ukraine has already lost.

There are no sanctions left to implement that will have any impact on Russia.

Don’t bet against President Trump’s ability to bring Putin to heel.

The Russians will not concede any of the annexed territory or allow a NATO military build up in what's left of Ukraine.

Beyond that, anything else is probably up for negotiation.

With the J-6 pardons he proved conclusively to everyone that he means what he says and does what he intends to do. He also proved his total courage. There’s a new sheriff in town and everybody better watch out.

it’s just a matter of how fast Russia moves West, and how far.

Right now Russia can't even move the line of contact by a few hundred yards in most places, including inside Russia.

At their current rate of progress they'll get to Kyiv in about 50 years.

Cutting off the flow of goods illegally shipped through Kazakhstan and other entry points will shut down the Russian military's ability to make modern weapons.

In case you haven't noticed Russia is incapable of building the electronic components used in modern weapons systems.

Fine with Russia as they’re in better shape now than when they started.

Russian propagandists on Twitter are having a meltdown and saying some really nasty things about President Trump. Tell them to stop.

“We can do this the easy way or the hard way.”

People have tried to bully Russia before - the Germans, the French (under Napoleon)….

Never quite worked out.

“Fine with Russia as they’re in better shape now than when they started.”

Define “better shape”.

In terms of Ukrainian territory gained, then perhaps so. But subtract from that total the Russian territory that Ukraine took.

Throw in hundreds of thousands dead and wounded Russians and the toll on their economy.

That doesn’t strike me as “better shape”.

However, the Russians do have the seized Ukrainian territory as bargaining chips.

We’ll see where it all goes.

BREAKING: Vladimir Putin is reportedly seeking to have Anthony Fauci EXTRADITED to Russia to face COVID-era ‘Crimes Against Humanity’ Charges as part of a Deal to end the War in Ukraine.

This is HUGE! pic.twitter.com/G8lhwbCbKr— Cillian (@CilComLFC) January 22, 2025

I suggested this a day or two ago...

I propose a trade:

Russia gets to keep ALL of Ukraine, if they get rid of Fauci for us.
