The Ohio State Buckeyes are national champions.
A season that appeared lost after a shocking 13-10 loss to Michigan on Nov. 30 ended in jubilation on Monday when the Buckeyes defeated Notre Dame 34-23 in the College Football Playoff championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

It’s a shame, isn’t it, that the Pope isn’t Catholic.
All this fuss over the NFLs minor league teams.
The curse lives!
Notre Dame cursed itself to never again win a national championship in a MAJOR sport (women’s basketball and Beer Pong don’t count) when Father Jenkins had protestors who were on their knees praying the Rosary on the Grounds of NOTRE DAME UNIVERSITY - the University of Our Lady it’s very name he cursed the school to defeats like this. The protestors 83 in all were arrested for protesting ND giving Obama - an abortion butcher- an honorary JD.
For almost 3 years Jenkins would NOT drop the charges costing ND millions in Alum donations but a low rent guy like him didn’t care. He kissed Obama’s ring and that was what he wanted. Three of those arrested were priests - two Holy Cross Fathers like Jenkins - but the low life that he is, Jenkins refused to let it go. All charges were eventually dropped. One old priest die with that “charge” hanging over his head.
I have rarely enjoyed watching a Notre Dame game as much as watching Ohio State carry the curse forward for another year! THE CURSE LIVES!
Ditto for Michigan.
Yes. Triumph through adversity.
Corch Meyeh!
Ohio State purchased the mythical National Championship.
Ohio State 5 star players = 14
Notre Dame 5 star players = 1
I told my cousin we were the New York Yankees of college football. But I’m not returning any championships over it.
Ohio State had nine 5-star recruits play in the NC game. You’re looking off a list. You don’t know $#*! about this team. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
You’re also dissing 3 and 4 star players. I happen to know a few 3 star ranked guys from previous years, and they’re exemplary men.
The other thing you’re totally discounting is the faith factor of this team. Rarely have I seen a team profess their faith in Jesus Christ the way this year’s Buckeyes have.
Notre Dame did also. In fact, even in defeat, Notre Dame still acknowledged the Lord’s hand in their lives. Is it any wonder that these two teams were the two teams playing for the Natty this year, with an expanded playoff schedule?
This year’s Buckeyes were more than just a team of 5-star players. This was a group of young men who openly professed their faith, to each other, to Columbus, to the world.
They didn’t get here by virtue of their talent all alone. They made it through to this achievement because of selflessness that they learned, from JC first. One by one they learned from each other about Him. There’s been a revival on this team. They believe and trust in Him, in their coach, and in each other.
They went through a lot of adversity. Heck, most of the starters on this team could be playing in the NFL this year as rookies. They could be earning BIG money. However, they wanted to win a NC for their team. They came back, when they didn’t have to.
They asked the Lord to help them, and He put them through the grinder. Bitter losses. How do you bounce back from that?
The same can be said of Notre Dame. Those are all good guys, too, I have the utmost respect for Marcus Freeman and what he’s trying to build. It’s pretty cool to watch him.
Give this video a watch. First up is Emeka Egbuka. Second is TreVeyon Henderson. Third is Gee Scott, Jr. Tie this with Will Howard, Jack Sawyer, and Caleb Downs professing their faith.

This is Caleb Downs’ reaction when Jack Sawyer strip-sacked Quinn Ewers in the Cotton Bowl and ran the ball for a touchdown against Texas. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DErFaxwOKlh/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
See what really made this team a great team. It wasn’t the number of stars behind their status as players. It’s the player behind the stars.
Bttt
As a Michigan fan, the Buckeye revival was fascinating. That was a huge part of Michigan’s success last year. Kudos to the team for their success.
I watched their game with Texas. They finally won a close, contested game. They won it through character with that goal line stand. Character built by rebounding from their disastrous loss to Michigan. Congrats to all their players.
That’s quite a compliment coming from an opposing team’s fan. I look forward to watching these young men become ambassadors for Christ going forward.
😊
I had tried to watch the game, but my heart wasn’t in it.
I get that. Maybe another time. I”d like to watch it again. We forgot to tape it. Sometimes I can see highlights. I think I’ll look for it later when it’s released in full.
When you understand that the players truly had a revival in their hearts, it’s easier to watch, even if you’re from an opposing team.
