I was glued to the TV today to watch this transformation of Washington and I was thinking that, if we believe that God's hands are on DJT (like I do), Trump not winning in 2020 was probably the best thing that could have happened in the long run. We were in the middle of COVID and everyone was mad. The Country was a mess. Trump probably could not have done in the first two years the things he will do now. He is older, wiser knows the Democrat tricks and has much more support than he did then. The Country needed to see what Democrat rule does and they did not like it. Am I wrong?
Agree.
I unreservedly believe that you’re right. The cost was SO high, but it turns out that God’s timing was just right.
If I were - heaven forfend - a Democrat, I would look at all that has happened over the last 2 years and conclude, “Well, it’s quite obvious that no weapon we formed against him has prospered. Perhaps I’ll just align myself w/God’s wishes, shut my yap and quit my claptrap.” But I don’t think they’re going to quit. Let them continue to sow the wind. We know how this concludes.
If you’re wrong, so are a lot of us. It occurred to me during this past spring/summer’s campaign that it just might be a blessing that the horrors of 2020 happened.
I think a lot of people came to an awakening over these past five years and now we can truly heal ourselves and our nation.
We truly serve an awesome God.
Thank you for posting this.
All that happened in the 2020 election and afterwards revealed a lot of the sinister workings in the government. As painful as it was to see that, it was important for everyone to see.
2020 revealed all the ugly cracks and bugs in our elections. Who but Trump voters would have had the impetus to improve the process?
My own state of GA went from a 5 day counting saga (2020) to having the results in by midnight (2024).
I remain in awe of the Almighty’s handiwork.
We need to make sure he has security on his security. The Secret Service didn’t fail to protect DT, it failed to kill him. I doubt that will stop.
Trump was POTUS just 4 years ago so that means the younger generation knows the difference between the 2 parties and will be less likely to forget the difference between the 2. A good omen for 2028.
I cannot disagree with your thesis.
“the crazies are still out there”
The reports today say that every sort of subversive, commie, leftist, anarchist organization in the country will be there tomorrow to raise hell and start “Resist Part 2.” I hope that does not come to pass.
One thing that would make this inauguration even sweeter would be the DC Police standing ready to let loose on the crazies with fire hoses, dogs and horses ready.
My State of Arizona, where I am A State Senator, will have a Republican Governor in 2026. Unless we completely screw up, it will be and it will be glorious!
The cost of him being ousted in 2020 is millions of illegals, along with the financial drain and their crime — lives lost to murders.
I doubt he’ll deport most of them. So the cost might be greater than any benefit.

WELL said!!!!
Nope, you are not wrong. These things you say are very true.
“You meant it for harm, but God meant it for good, so that many lives will be saved.”
Joseph, to his brothers who sold him into slavery in Egypt.
God works all things together for good for those who love him, who are called according to His purpose.
This is especially appropriate to remember on Life Sunday. We have a marvelous confidence that no matter what is allowed to come into our life, God knows what He is doing and is working to use even bad things to bring about good.
I’ve been praying for a long time, that God would intervene to save us in the midst of our own inability to save ourselves. He is the only One who can bring righteousness and justice.
Today’s Old Testament lesson was the prophecy about a son being born to us. “Of the increase of His government and of peace there will be no end.” His is the government we WANT to see increase, because it is justice, peace, and life. May HE bring about peace and justice in our land.
I think that is a fine interpretation of these times as any, Hilda.
I’ve been thinking the same thing. A lot of people have woken up over the past 4 years. God does work in mysterious ways.
The DC police might be more likely to let loose on US rather than the crazies. I just trust that the changeover at noon is going to result in a changeover of authority over who controls the protestors. We stand a chance if it’s our people doing crowd control. I don’t trust the situation if it’s the people under Democratic DC Control.
I hadn’t seen anything about Resist Part 2. Chills down my back. I just want to know he’s safe. Because if he’s safe, so are we.
We are reminded by our Lord in Matthew 5:45 that
. . . He makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
and in Romans 5:8
. . . but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
I agree with you 100%.
Yes, you're wrong.
Everyone is euphoric at the return of President Trump. Listening to the "everyday Americans" being interviewed on the street, the implied but unspoken sentiment that I see is a belief that Trump is finally getting what he won in 2020 but was stolen from him.
These feelings are not coming from a sense of "we told you so, and now we get a chance to prove it," it's coming from the belief that Trump is finally getting what was taken from him, and EVERYONE had a part in making it "too big to rig."
So, to respond to the thought of "Trump not winning in 2020 was probably the best thing that could have happened in the long run," to me, is to accept the cost of that belief.
It cost us:
We could have had four more steps forward and perhaps another four from here, without all the tragedy that Biden inflicted on us all.
I'm sorry, but I'm not in the camp of "we have to lose to win." The cost of losing so Trump could win even more was too great. I'm happy that he won, but I can't say that it is better than if he had taken office again in 2020.
