Does anyone have any treatments for sciatica or any recommendations? I have it awful!!
Little background- i trained for the Olympics for 10 years (decathlon) and still workout daily, an hour and a half to two hours. A lot of running, swimming, weightlifting. I'm in good shape- great shape for my age.
I've had a problem with my left hip which has morphed into sciatica the past six months. It was initially annoying but now its almost debilitating. Had to stop three times on my run this morning.
Severe pain is in the lower half of my butt check through my hamstring. Calf and a achillies a bit tight but nothing bad.

Use ice packs on it, and google exercises for it. This all works.
I too had debilitating sciatica pain at various times. I’ve had significant relief using a Be Active Plus leg brace. Your mileage may vary, of course. Good luck!

Sorry, I don’t have any help for you. My wife had sciatica and it’s a real pain in the ass. Hope a little humor went the right way for you.

I have had it, though to a lessor degree I imagine.
There are several stretches that can be quite helpful. You have to do them religiously of course. Helped me.

Also, can I assume you have already gotten a shot of cortisone in the area? That’s usually done to reduce the inflammation.
Get a scan. Radiologist will likely be able to actually show you what’s causing the issue.

I had terrible sciatica pain too. Couldn’t sleep, couldn’t walk, couldn’t sit. It was debilitating.
Turns out two of my disks were bulging putting pressure on the sciatic nerve. I tried exercise, stretching, meds and cortisone. The only thing that worked was lumbar laminectomy with microdiskectomy. You can see an animation of the procedure online. I’m now extremely careful with my back. If I can’t lift it with two fingers, then I don’t lift it.
I feel your pain - literally. I think a large part of addressing sciatic pain is dealing with inflammation at the pinched nerve. My pain varies from day to day in severity. When it becomes too severe, I'll take ibuprofen. Lidocaine rubbed into the hurting area can offer temporary relief. Sometimes I'll take 8-hour Tylenol before I go to bed, which helps me rest and at the same time relaxes muscles which can contribute to pinching the sciatic nerve.
My research on sciatic surgery and it's lack of long term success record makes it a no for me.
A good bone cruncher takes the time to explain what went out and what to do to prevent the problem.
I, too, am in good health and recently had a bout.
My job does NOT involve 8 hours of sitting, but in my case sitting at home on a pillow under my right cheek totally eliminated my left side problem (it took about 6 months).
Sciatica and its complications are a progressive problem sometimes alleviated by simple changes.
But don’t assume: A friend of mine DOES sit for 8 hours/day and ultimately he was found to have massive blood clots in his femoral artery (they don’t know the cause; no, he did not have the jab). He survived, but the surgery’s effects are lingering almost a year later.
A simple test is the perfusion test to determine if there’s cause for alarm due to circulatory issues, described here if you’re not familiar. Compare the left to right toes. If they’re the same, there’s not likely cause for alarm, but neither am I a doctor. There are comprehensive tests an equipped medical office can perform to test your lower extremity circulation, but this is a simple one you can do from your chair.

From my personal experience, it absolutely works because animal fats are anti-inflamatory. Carnivore has cured my toes pains and my wife’s back pain. I don’t even mention many other benefits to stay on topic. Never going back to the standard diet’s “eating healthy”.
