Conversations about Melania Trump and her stylist are gaining momentum as the presidential inauguration draws near. Known for her appreciation of bold and elegant styles, she is expected to leave a significant impression on inaugural fashion once again.
Designers are eager to dress her, with industry insiders suggesting she may opt for an American-brand designer, embracing themes of unity and renewal. Her previous style choice in 2017—a stunning blue coat dress by Ralph Lauren—set a high standard, and this year she seems poised to make an even bolder statement, reasserting her influence on the global fashion scene.
During her time as First Lady, Melania Trump displayed a strong affinity for high-end couture, favoring prestigious labels such as Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, and Hervé Pierre, who has become a trusted collaborator and famously designed her 2017 inaugural ball gown.
At present, there has been no confirmation regarding the French designer’s attendance at the 2025 inauguration.
Reports suggest that her wardrobe choices for the inauguration are being finalized at Mar-a-Lago with input from her sister Ines, adding to the growing anticipation. Analysts believe her ensemble will not only embody her signature elegance but also subtly reflect the political themes of the new administration. With fashion houses eager to reconnect with her enduring appeal, Melania’s inauguration outfit is set to become a defining moment in modern political fashion.
Various sources indicate that Melania’s wardrobe for the upcoming inauguration is being finalized at Mar-a-Lago with input from her sister Ines. On American Agenda, George Brescia, author of 'Change Your Clothes, Change Your Life', shared his perspective: "Last time, she looked gorgeous and beautiful, like a first lady should look. I think she'll probably take that opportunity to do something on that level again. The fact that it's inside this this time is going to be a game-changer because when it's outside, it's really all about the coats that we're seeing right now. You're going to be indoors; it's going to be all about the dress or the pantsuit or the jacket, and you're going to be indoors. It's going to be all about the dress or the pantsuit or the jacket, and you know it's really going to make a different statement; it's going to be a lot more fashion to see."
Will she stay true to her preference for high-end designers, or will she embrace a new stylistic direction? Considering her history of choosing sophisticated yet impactful looks, many speculate that she might opt for a statement piece that reflects both her status as a former First Lady and her distinct sense of style.
"Ralph did a beautiful job last time." Brescia stated. "I think, you know, it's a designer's choice as to whether or not they want to do it. Exposure is exposure, and obviously all eyes will be on her on Monday. Whether you're for the administration or against the administration, it doesn't matter. It's just going to be a huge opportunity for a designer to, you know, make that statement and work with her. So I think she's probably still not decided yet what she's going to do, because she's got a lot of options, and I'm sure she's trying on a lot of things as we're speaking. I know she's been doing lots of fittings at Mar-a-Lago and of course a lot of people lining up to dress her again and I heard that potentially Ralph Lauren could also be in the lead again but we don't know yet," he concluded
Historically, Melania's fashion choices have not only highlighted her affinity for European designers but have also contributed to a lasting legacy within American fashion culture. She is celebrated for her preference for neutral hues, intricate textures, and designs that accentuate her figure. Considering the inauguration's historical significance, her outfit will undoubtedly be thoughtfully curated, potentially conveying a message of unity, strength, or nostalgia for her time in the White House.
The Biden years were a weird nightmare from which we are just now awaking.
It doesn’t matter how classy she looks, she is unlikely to make the cover of Vogue or any other of the so-called elite fashion magazines.
Less than 24 hours to go!
She always looks great. Jill always looked like her clothes fell on her from the 10th floor!
Some of the rabid leftist magazines probably will continue to be stupid, but the smarter ones might have some covers with Mrs. Trump and Mrs. Vance.
My how the fickle media has changed. From 2015 until a few months ago the media would hardly acknowledge that she existed.
It does feel that way, doesn’t it? Nice to have mostly normal people at the helm again. The last round of communists, ‘transexuals’, homosexuals, and race-baiting scum was a little hard to take... Nightmarish does describe the feeling perfectly.
Being from a place with no snow, I love admiring winter fashion.
Usha’s understated class and beauty cannot be overstated either! I have loved what she’s worn lately!!!
Back then, Melania was stunning in sky blue cashmere.
This time it feels like it's going to be different for her. I'm glad.

What about the first wife?
Classy.
Good post, well said.
She will remember those who gave her a hard time and they will be isolated. If Trump invites them to something she will be gracious but cold as ice to them.
I hope she wears the brightest red ever woven into cloth.
And maybe a necklace of middle fingers.
I hope she sticks with overseas designers. The American ones (with the exception of Ralph Lauren) acted like a little Resistance mafia.
JD Vance’s wife wore a spectacular strapless sweetheart black velvet fitted dress for one of the inaugural balls last night. Don’t know how to post pictures but if anyone here comes across the pic please post.
RL Is my most favorite designer. I’ll buy a blouse or two from Marshalls… I know they’re not the greatest quality but at least I can say I own some RL merch. But the purple label is completely out of my price range. I just love his clothing line it’s spectacular.
